this is such good timing to show up on my recommended! i'm also a uni student debating starting an artist shop/possibly debating trying out for an artist alley in the future do you have any tips you'd recommend for beginners? or even tips doing it alongside uni

Go for it! Starting small, like stickers, would be a good starting point. I started selling stickers for the first time, then slowly upgrading my merch to different kinds. Advertising it on social media is also important to gain exposure if you plan on setting up an art shop. Artist alleys are also great for selling your art and meeting like-minded individuals. If it's your first time, I would suggest going for the small cons or even small events so that you know what works and what does not. Even at Uni, our department would have a little art booth where we could sell our merchandise if events were happening at our school. I hope this helps! 💛
