Thank you for the truthfulness of the business side of things too. I have a shop and was getting down because sales are low, trying to justify with the holiday, nice weather and people are out getting yard work done, etc. So I am taking advantage of the down time to figure out wholesale, website and other things that I can't do when people are in the shop. Thank you for keeping it real!

The BEST face sunscreen is Neutrogena 60+ (in small pump bottle). It blends well and doesn’t run in white streaks when sweating. My husband and I are both redheads and we have never burned with it. Recently, he was working 15+ hours, put it on that morning and applied 1 other time, was outside the whole time.

Hi Caitlin! It's Vanessa again! Loooove this video, I've never really understood or seen how soap bars are made and this video showed me the process! So cool!!! I love the color variations you mix together to form a beautiful aesthetic bar soap, lot's of work but it pays off! Question to help all of the newbies out there! When starting a small business do you recommend reaching out to prospective stockists/retailers first or order the inventory and then reach out to them to have the physical product? I ask this because I'm scared of ordering a huge inventory order for it to be sitting in my garage and not have the retailers even be aware of my product. Of course, I will be pitching right away but is it still enough to guarantee selling 10,000 + units (which is MOQ for some suppliers) within 6-12 months? How did you go about it? :)

The small business world is so small! I love seed2stem in Worchester and they mentioned Sol Rune before. I'm from CT and have a small business and love traveling across CT, MA and NY to check out new shops. Will have to take a trip to visit :) Have you ever considered doing Renegade Fair?

Hi Caitlin, great content as usual! I have a question about wholesale, how do you turn down shops that approach you that may not be a good fit for your aesthetic/brand. Thanks, great work keep it up :) x

Thank you! So usually reason for turning down a shop is that I already sell to a store in that area and I don’t want over saturation. If it’s a store that aesthetically doesn’t fit I would maybe say something like you only take on a few wholesale accounts every few months and right now you don’t have the capacity, or something like that. Hope that helps!

Do your new thing then you'll find out if it will work or not. If it does it's a plus, if it doesn't at least you'll know and can focus more on your regular work. So glad you're wearing a pinny.

You should speak with more confidence. It isn’t just candles- it’s your livelihood and your business. Try to stop saying ‘like’ - not that you want my advice. But you need to have more confidence in yourself.
