Helloooo! Hope you enjoy this different format for this video! I'm still trying to get used to filming bits of my day throughout the week but let me know if you would like to see more studio vlogs. More art supplies and speedpaints coming soon :-). If you have any book recommendations - particularly art books + children's books, I'd love to hear 'em!

www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/3071336 Voyage au pays des arbres (Journey into the land of trees) by Le Clezio is a really beautiful children's book that most children in France know of. From what I know, there's only one common edition and the drawings in it are really beautiful :)

So glad u posted 😭😭😭 been needing this type of calming video. Cause Ap Art been killing me
@inkmink89574 жыл бұрын
Same here! When I first started art this year I was super excited to continue art as a hobby. I didn’t realize my teacher would assign us SO MUCH. For someone who loves art and is an artist herself, my teacher really doesn’t seem to understand the concept of “I don’t want to draw what you tell me to because it won’t be motivating or my best work”.

I’m only 13, but I want to take AP Art one day! None of my friends like art as much as I do, and I’ve been self teaching myself for years, so I mostly want to go for the experience to get to meet people, and learn new things from professionals. But, I know a lot of people say that it makes them kinda start to hate art though since they’re being assigned things to do instead of doing what they want, so I’m kinda scared about that ;-; Hope you’re not too stressed! 💜
@inkmink89574 жыл бұрын
Hi Yin! First of all, that’s a super awesome idea. AP art is so so much fun, and it really helps you improve your art techniques and develop your style. That being said, of course it is a lot of work, especially for people starting out in a “real” art class. Spending time on a quick self-assigned painting isn’t the same as following all these requirements for hours to get a piece you wouldn’t have made otherwise. I don’t know you, but you sound pretty tough to me. If you think you can keep up with art sometimes feeling like another class, go for it. You got this. Oh, and one more thing; I know you’re legally allowed to have social medias, but it’s still best to not reveal your age online. Next time you could say, “I’m going to a new school” or “I’m young” or something like that. Not trying to be rude, just trying to make sure you’re safe. Anyway, I guess the point is that you should 10/10 try taking AP art. Again, it’s tough, but if you keep up with it I promise you’ll come to enjoy the work. ✨🌈❤️

I’m really loving the recent addition of u mentioning art books and graphic novels (or maybe u always have done this and I’m too new of a fan to have known) This video had me maddddd inspired, and u always condense it with so much quality content, I rarely keep up with any content creator, bc I like to focus on school and my own work, BUT I LOVE UR WORK SO MUCH. Omg!! She ended you something from Mofelito Paperito! It's a super small stationary shop almost next to where I work in Brussels and it's my favorite store in my city! The owner is super nice and dedicated, and the shop is so well curated. They have an online shop! This is so close to home suddenly, so specific. Also, Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils are a favorite. And a little tip on Ecoline: their colors are amazing and vibrant, but unfortunately Ecoline ink is not lightfast. So when exposed to too much (sun)light, the colors will fade away quite quickly.

Lovely video! I started watching Katnipp last year and became addicted to her studio vlogs. She doesn't come out often enough, so I started looking for other studio vlogs to feed my addiction. I just freaking love studio vlogs. that's the way I want to make a living. still fighting my procrastination. When I do start my business vlogs, I will make another channel. I really like that you have draftsman skills. I would love to do some worldbuilding and draw landscapes, buildings, and vehicles. I know very little of graphic novels, so seeing some no traditional graphic novels was a real treat. thank you. That painting sent to you has already given me ideas. unboxing really is fun.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wrapping paper decoration. What an innovative way to use SUPPLIES! I'm gonna try that for Xmas. I was thinking that if you wanted more opaque paper, you could use Reynolds Freezer Paper. It's got 2 surfaces, a plastic-lined waterproof side and a white craft paper side that's perfect for stamping. You can find it in the grocery store aisle where they keep the foil & plastic wrap.
