My phone is full of recordings of me humming, rapping and singing (badly) but it’s the best way. Sometimes I can put a drop (in my case house music) in my head & hum the full thing into my phone & make it ltr. Great tip

This commentary should reallly be a part of the class. I took a few studio classes and sometimes the masters go really fast and in the zone. It's nice to have a breakdown of what they are doing and why from time to time, that's where the real learning is.

I was receiving my juiciest melody ideas before pocketable supercomputers arrived. It was almost always when I was out walking or shopping. I didn't own a portable recorder so I'd hum the ideas for as long as I could. Sometimes I'd make it back to my little 1/4-inch 8-track recording setup in time to capture them but very often they'd vanish back into the ether. I always say I've forgotten my best work.

For me personally recording everything is fine but the skill to operate the DAW along with knowing how to regulate every parameter precisely according to one's expectation is a whole different story I can't always simply expect to randomly press some buttons and make things sound cool altogether.

One thing missing from your video is that Charlie is a child prodigy, he has been playing the piano since age 4 and jazz from age 10, studied at Berklee etc. He lives and breathes music and most importantly it's theory. It is very easy for him to quickly get the music in his head out of the speakers. Not so easy for us lay folk.

This is Hate, trust me. Otherwise I don’t see why you had to mention. If you wanted to see the original video by puth himself without interruption, then u could have simply gone to his own page (GOODLUCK). But these couple here have made their own video to teach their own audience and followers very vital musical composition tips and they only used Charlie’s video as a great case study for what they are teaching their students. Your comment is not necessary dear brother.
@TimmyTheSnail

@@dearjoeymusic1146this isn’t hate 🤣 if you genuinely believe this is hate then you need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror. This is merely constructive criticism which apparently people like you are now so sensitive to because you can’t bare to hear anything that isn’t praise 😂
