Some of my favorite films are when the bad guys win: Fight Club, Seven, Social Network, and also non-Fincher films like The Dark Knight and The Empire Strikes Back. Fincher is awesome!!

*_@jasonge635,_*_ if it wasn't about Fincher, I would think you were talking about KUBRICK. Plus, in the 70's the World realized how many shots Stanley Kubrick used to do, and it felt unusual, different, new and even almost shocking. But, in the last three decades, who doesn't make many and many shots?_

Actually Fincher's camera almost always moves. He just makes it so subtle that we don't notice. Film students even study his technique where the camera operator follows the movements of the character. When a character sits down the camera moves down and when the character rises the camera also moves up. It's a synchronize movement that takes a number of takes before getting the perfect shot.

It’s fair to note that David fincher doesn’t write his movies, but he does have say in editing,vfx, lighting, and obviously cinematography. Even though he doesn’t write them he chooses the scripts.
@manisimmati4 жыл бұрын
Although he doesn't write them, it seems he has a pretty big influence on the script. The making-of of The Social Network suggests this; in it, you see how he challenges the dialogue of none other than Aaron Sorkin. Together with the actors and the writer, he's trying to make the script as concise as possible. Maybe he didn't have that much creative control in his earlier work, but nowadays he most certainly has.
