Ozu was expelled from boarding school for writing a love letter to another boy. NB: The English narrative is written in rather poor (US?) English. Shame.

Oh please give references for this. Where did you learn he was expelled for writing love letters to another boy?

@@gjford1951 It is mentioned on the Japanese wikipedia entry for Ozu. Not many details are there, but it seems there was a ban against relationships between boys and girls, and one boy sent another boy a traditional "love letter" navigating around this rule, and Ozu was involved -- somehow. That is all I can gather at the moment. FWIW, McKavitt seems to have an axe to grind. He even complained about the quality of the English in this video.
