I was actually kind of surprised that there wasn't a nod to this show in "Big Hero 6". The source material is a Marvel property as well, and the jokes would have written themselves. Most people in the west probably wouldn't have gotten it, but Disney DOES release all of their stuff in Japan.

Might want to correct that to "the Toku genre as it is today". It was there before Stan thought to let Toei do their thing, just without the giant robot(s). That's the true long term contribution of Supaida-Man: the inclusion of giant mechs.
