Been using that stp for about a year now. Never any issues. I’ve been using 4 ounces per gallon which makes a good 32:1 mix. That’s the lowest I’ll go. Been running great. Put about 500 miles and the only issue is I think the rod bearing is going bad like yours did. I hear some sort of metal noise in the engine now while it’s idoling and when I rev it, it gets faster.

Bike life!! I recently discovered a Very useful transfer port mod that got my little 38mm stroke GT5 goin 40mph with stock exhaust.
@wsk58464 жыл бұрын
Can you explain what that mod entailed? Thanks
@codelicious65904 жыл бұрын
@@wsk5846 most of the cylinders come very rough cast and all the ones I've gotten have had a lip just inside the transfers- also a little area that seems wasted on the small end. I grind that lip so theres a smooth transition also, I take JB weld and fill in that area on the small end so it gently slopes into the direction of outlet (it makes the outlet of the transfer slightly smaller, thereby increasing velocity.) If you're doubtful of having jbweld inside the engine, I've run three cylinders with the very mode modification and the jb weld is still intact. Basically, I'm just matching the inside of the transfer port angle to the outside. I have ground a sharp edge on the entry edges but found it doesn't make a big difference. Those crappy castings usually need at least a little cleaning up and port matching at the very least. The exhaust port can be widened at least 5mm and 2mm on the top and bottom. Just make sure to chamfered the edges of all ports after you're done with all the grinding.

Speed dado ive owned two strokes all my life i love them there is no reason to add extra oil when running one in believe it or not adding extra oil to a two stroke is just as bad as not enough. By adding extra oil you actually lower the octane rating of the fuel and you also cause the motor to run to lean which actually will cause the engine to run hotter. Personally i would just buy a good quality oil something like belray run it at 25 : 1 and just take it easy for about 300 KLM'S and you will have no problems. Dont buy oil for a water cooled engine and dont buy cheap oil for lawn mowers or gardening equipment Fuchs scoot 2 is a good oil its made for mopeds. look up on KZbin there is quite a few.

Timothy Kennedy on these little engine's it's best to run them heavy for a gallon of fuel mix for ring settings and bearings lubeing don't fail

I ran 25:1 on first tank. Then i run 2.6 oz oil to .80 gallons after about a 38 to 40:1

Ahh I got my bike going 30mph with a 44 tooth with a pipe and jetting but the power drops off at high rpm and just got a reed and going to try it. The reed seems to small to me tho, I put it on my bike last night I'll let you know if I get it to run good. Lol
