Hair spray is not archival - and makes paintings go yellowish over time... 😢 Ok for practice stuff, of course. 👍

Very informative video ❤ I love your style and admire your attention to detail. I also paint wildlife but a lot looser, so I thoroughly enjoy watching you in an attempt to get a little better and patient with the details.

I suppose if one did prefer to use the white, it's better to quickly frame behind glass which, of course, adds to the cost. Great tutorial on charcoal, thank you Sir.

Tortillions and blending stumps are 2 different tools. Stumps, which is what you were using, is made from compressed paper and pointed on both ends. Tortillions are paper that is wound and is pointed on one end and are hollow.

Thanks for all these extremely helpful tips to work with charcoal! I was always wondering how you actually frame your large charcoal artworks. Are you actually doing that on your own? Greetings!!
