The only thing that IITs are worth being in is the environment, exposure, connections and on campus placement drives. Thats the reality.

Whereas, if you see this number from other colleges, you will realise it yourself. But it is also true that cse students (from prestigious colleges like IIT) have upper hand because IIT's curriculum is internationally accepted. (Its also true for other branches if you are willing to go into your branch)

That is not equivalent to any IIT. IIT graduates get so much attention and money because of there dedication, which IITs tested even before you enters to any of their campus, in their JEE test. Any good university in the world is known for their content/teachers and their enterence test, You can't skip one of those any become a equivalent.

Even if you don't want to be someone's employee and start a new startup on your own, your investors look for that "fame" in your profile. Keeping aside the quality of education at IIT, there is surely that fame factor that helps you a lot, and I mean a lottt. The people that say college degree isn't that important are the drop outs from the best universities, or are rich or are extremely smart or at least know what they wanna do and how to effective do it.

So, I'm an IITian. I think there's a misconception here. IITs are not popular just because of the professors, you can always find some other lecture series like cs231n. It is the people around you that matters a lot. NPTEL has existed for so long, the lectures are given by profs from iits, but it's still not as popular. If all you want is to study from the lectures delivered by iit profs, nptel is your place to go, its not even limited to iitm

It is 3-5 year complete degree course. and it has entrance exam. also it has total 31 subjects to clear. and its not that easy to clear exams. obviously you cant get tag of IITian unless and until you do hardwork to achieve it. Also try to read the details On IITM bsc online degree webpage and then understand about this program. Dont come up to the solution before understanding or confirming the facts

IITs Don't teach anything different from any other private colleges. The things IIT Teaches can be leant from KZbin/Coursera as well... The only reason IITians do better is because of their peer group and the environment of the institute.

Every Field in education has it's own value and struggles but society and so influencers are soo busy glorifying IIT and due to this people tHis narrow mindset they start thinking that if you want to be successful in life then become Engineer or doctor that's it .. Otherwise your life will be miserable . Well let me tell that it's not true i have so many friends pursuing engineering and they all admit one thing that engineering is exaggerated topic in India . People just love to fantasize about rumor and myth they hear on social media . Now hold before you or any IITian yet offended by my comment then i want to tell you that it's not about struggle , difficulty or money you make .... It's all about what makes you happy in the end . So dear "INFLUENCERS" pls start seeing the broad picture . There are numerous profession and field like entrepreneurship , Aviation , freelancer , sports and many other fields, where a person can easily make huge amount of money too but you guys are still busy in glorifying iit . I not saying that IIT is a piece of cake and anybody can do it but the point is that no exam in this world meant to be everyone . Everyone have their own interest and they evaluate these exams on the basis of their interest . Well ... It's not society or influencers problem ... it's just how and what our education system has taught us since pur child hood that "agar achi life chahiye toh yaa to engineering kro ya fir doctor bano " . I hope someday people will realise that it's not about money , rather it's about what make you happy . And dear students stop chasing whatever these influencers trying to feed you ... Think from your own perspective . Sometimes in life you have to Take decision on basis of your own experience. Now i know i typed a very long paragraphs 😅 .
