I had read that recommendation letters are to be submitted directly to DAAD in a sealed envelope by the references? Is it mandatory to generate the recommendation letter form in the DAAD portal? Dear Sohaila, in principle yes, but so far submitting a soft copy via DAAD Portal has worked fine. It is not mandatory but recommended to use DAAD format.

Mahdi Salam, yes this is possible. Under Personal funding go to "Application and Funding overview", then you see on the left "Option". Click on this and you shall see "submit document regarding the funding"
