Wow, first time to hear about such case. We have received so many refusals, with the same thought that we have prepared very well, every refusal we thought of challenging the case and take it up to court as we feel we have satisfied all factors. However, the process takes long based on my research (plus more expensive as you will hire an immigration lawyer, not a consultant), so it would be faster to file another application and address those concerns in the refusal. We were approved in the end after so many battles. One was even a refusal for not containing a certificate of enrollment to prove current study status - it was in fact part of my documents and they just missed it!

There is nothing wrong. But, its all how the visa officer perceives your application. So, when looking at the visa officer's standpoint, it may be strange for someone to change career or direction in life at a certain age.

Hi Rachel. Just wanted to clarify a few things. I had applied and got accepted to GBC Toronto for Diploma in Hospitality Operations Management. I have 3 years of work experience in the hotel sector across the Middle East and India but my education background is not so strong as I am a drop out. The Immigration officer rejected my application twice for the same reason that is 1) purpose of visit 2) family ties 3) employment oppurtunities I have provided them with a study plan, SOP, LOE as well as a financial background letter to prove to the officer that i have all the resources at my disposal for me to study and live my life over there for 2 years. However in my last 2 applications i did not provide a study plan, and mainly financial statements. Do you think now with the documents that I have provided. It will bolster my chances to receive my PPR? Thank you Po.

Very good video. Thank for sharing you thoughts with us😊 A query. When applying for the study permit, if I demonstrated financial solvency for the first year, will i have to demonstrate how I will finance the second and third years? And if no how can i explain in the that LOE ?

Hi Rachel, thanks for this video! Question, is the IRCC strict about the 6 mos bank statement? I can get 6 mos. bank statements for my own account, but for my sponsor's, I only have their bank certificate and 3 mos bank statements. The balances should be more than enough to cover my 2-year program, but I'm worried I will be rejected on a technicality. :(

Hi! Thank you for your informative videos. I’ve been following your content for quite awhile now. I just have some few concerns since recently, my student visa application got declined and I am planning to reapply. 1) Is it safe to order GCMS notes if you’re ordering a copy from Philippines? 2) I did try consulting an Immigration lawyer but the legal fee is at 1000CAD so I opted not to continue with it. Now I am just planning to reapply via Student Direct Stream. Are you familiar with SDS? I also watched a YT video whose application via regular process got rejected as well, but re-applied thru SDS and got approved upon doing so. Any thoughts on this? Thank you and more power to you!

Hi! Miss Rachel can you give insight if the practical nursing program I eagerly wanted to enroll at Holland College would be the right one to take, I graduated BS Psychology in 2018 prior to that I’d finished 3 years out of 4 years in BS Pharmacy and 1 year out of 4 yearsBS Education. I am currently working as medical receptionist at reputable hospital here in Kuwait, also 2 years ago as Pharmacy Technician.Now I’m perplexed because there are schools in the Philippines offered practical nursing and maybe I got rejected too. I appreciate that much if you could give me idea I need it so badly this time. Side note I am 36 years old.

Hi, thank you for your question. The video had a specific situation with specific set of facts and yours will be different. In my case, I pursued a program that was not at all related to my studies in PH and I got accepted. So I guess my main here message is, don’t focus on one factor in one case and apply it to yours. The video should not deter you from pursuing your study path. It really depends and you will need to look at other factors in your case like Age, Finances, Ties to home country, Employment history, etc... as this will all play a factor in strengthening your application. If there are schools in the PH that offer the same program, explain in your SOP why the program in Canada is preferred. If you were to compare the two programs, which courses in the Canadian program would be more beneficial for you career-wise or academically? Once identified, elaborate on the differences and benefits It can give you, bc the officer will be looking at your application and asking themselves “what’s the purpose for foreign education if it costs more and something is already available in the PH?” I hope this clarifies your concern.
@pinoyletsplay Жыл бұрын
is a refusal letter a one time deal... Can you not try other schools? or maybe try another program?

@rrdancel3 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what your purpose of study was and how that correlates to the reasons for refusal. It is important to look at your reasons for refusal, especially in the officer's notes --- which you have to apply and get access to. Search up "GCMS notes" and how to apply for one. Once you get those notes, you will have to look at the officer's concerns with your application and see if you can address those officer's concerns with your NEW application. My second point to you, I would seek legal help to reapply because you already got a refusal and it's likely that they will refuse you again. And on your second refusal, it just gets tougher from there. I wish you the best!

What should we write on the SOP if our education or work background isn't the same as the course we take in Canada?
@rrdancel3 жыл бұрын
You can start by answering these questions: ✅ What is your reason for studying that program? ✅ Why do you wish to take that program in Canada? ✅ What is your career plan or career objectives after taking that course? If you’re a younger applicant, my opinion is that it may be easier or simpler to explain your circumstances knowing you have very little education and work history. My guess is, the immigration officer reviewing your file will understand that you are still figuring out your career path. But anyway, that’s my two cents on it.

I need to save money approximately a 1.5 years to get enough for 1 year of studies (+ living) in Canada. Meanwhile I'm saving money I can graduate from a local university and get a Master's degree online, which will strengthen my future profile in Express Entry in case of my future SP will be rejected. The dumbest thing with this story is that, since the federal court opted to overturn the immigration officer's decision, why not just grant the guy a study permit right there? Why is this passed back into the hands of yet another immigration officer? This doesn't make any sense !!
@rrdancel2 жыл бұрын
Good question! The Federal Court judge reviews decision from administrative bodies that makes decisions on a private citizen’s life. These government decision makers have more expertise in the areas that they govern. For instance, fisheries officers will have more knowledge, training and expertise over activities related to fishing. This applies the same to immigration officers, bylaw officers and other government bodies. Federal court judges receives appeals from various types of government bodies and will not be in a position to understand the law and jurisdiction surrounding each government body. This will place too much power on the judges. However, the judges can provide instructions to another immigration officers. These instructions do have some impact on the future decisions. Also, it is good to have a separation from government and the law courts. This way it keeps both the government and courts independent of one another. Independence eventually translates to a fairer and more transparent society.

hey dear, do you think a study permit applicant with an active express entry profile will be approved or rejected.,
@rrdancel3 жыл бұрын
Hi Muyama, This is hard to answer. It depends on many factors that are difficult to predict. The immigration officer reviewing your application (whomever that may be) will look at your application, supporting document, and letter of explanation to make a decision on your application. Not sure if the immigration officer will consider your EE profile as an intention to remain in Canada permanently. Again, not sure how to answer your question. 🤔👍
@catherinemuyama64123 жыл бұрын
@@rrdancel oh thank you for the reply dear.
@dipojones3 жыл бұрын
Your study permit will be rejected if you have an active EE profile, and state it in your SOP. This is confusing as with EE, you are planning on permanently staying in Canada but with study permit, you are required to leave Canada at the end of your studies. Its best to choose one path and focus on it. If that path fails, then you can reapply or try another path.

Why Canada takes immigrants if they want us to leave at the end of our studies ? Why do they even have a PGWP and PR applications ? IRCC took up 40000 Afghans who got PR straight from Pakistan and they didn't even pay for their medical. Even their tickets are paid for by the IRCC. While we students need to spend $60000 and pass IELTS and have bachelor's and DLI offer letter and pay for every step and study and work and then apply for pgwp and then have a chance at PR. These Afghans just going for free. Most of them didn't even look legit. Because I was at the same hospital in Islamabad and they looked like they've been living here for years. They didn't look like refugees at all. So I think IRCC system is broken. There's definitely a lot of corruption in Trudeau's government. No doubt. Also there's ton of immigration agencies that do fake filing and send people to Canada, students who barely speak English and business people who don't Really intergrate into Canadian society. Ever. Yet they all somehow sail smoothly in the system. Then IRCC singles out legit applications and refuses them. Somebody ought to look into it. Canada is an overrated country. The whole country's GDP is less than Texas. Weather is cold, economy is slow, jobs are few, system works very very slow, if it weren't close to US it would be worse off than Mexico. There's much better options for people who get refused. Try Europe, US or Australia. Don't keep Canada as your only choice. As a general rule US , UK , Germany , Europe ( sweden, Switzerland, Norway, France , Ireland and the others) followed by Australia and new Zealand. and then Canada. In that order. Most international students don't like Canada nor have it as their top option. It just makes a better option compared to what they have back home. If You're not prepared , you'll be disappointed. Canada is not an easy place to get rich. I think most people want a Canadian passport so they can go work in the US. Heck half the Canadian graduates themselves seek employment opportunities in the US. Canada to US is what Afghanistan to India is.
