देवेन्द्रनाथ टैगोर ब्रह्म समाज को राजा राममोहन राय के मार्ग पर चलाना चाहते थे । केशवचंद्र सेन ने ब्रह्म समाज में सभी धर्मों के प्रस्तावों के पाठ की अनुमति दे दी । वे सामाजिक सुधारों में अधिक रुचि लेने लगे । इस कारण से दोनों के बीच में मतभेद बढ़ता गया । 1867 ई. मैं देवेन्द्रनाथ टैगोर ने केशवचंद्र सेन को आचार्य के पद से हटा दिया था.. ।।।
