Current conflict in Manipur might escalate into full blown war. Many heavily armed forces are firing non stop for past 3 months despite 1lakh plus Indian army deployed. And many foreign parties are invested in the conflict.

India has more to lose . -Growing economy ( still low income ) -Unstable northeast ( nagaland , manipur) -Relatively small navy and far primitive airforce -Untrustable neighbours. -No trusted ally closeby ( even around world) - Deep demographic faultlines ( religious , communism, antinational political opponents who just need power at any cost) We can be dragged into it just for above objectives . So war shud not be in cards , not with china atleast for another 15 yrs

But Its going to be very Hard to see Russia not supporting INDIA or maintaining a Neutral approach as in any given time Russia can count India as their true friend.
