Complete Explanation of question 4:- let's assume that after T time the ratio will become 2:1. let's assume the height of the candles = H. Now candle A(1st candle) is burning completely in 6 hours. So it will burn H/6 per hour. Similarly, candle B(2nd candle) is burning completely in 4 hours. so it will burn H/4 per hour. we calculated the rate of burning of both the candles (H/6 and H/4). now we assumed that it will take T time to become in ratio 2:1 so in T time candle A will burn T*(H/6) similarly, candle B will burn T*(H/4) Note that the ratio 2:1 is the ratio of remaining heights. so remaining heights will become:- original height - burned height Remaining height of A = H-T*(H/6) Remaining height of B = H-T*(H/4) Now equate these remaining heights to the given ratios 2:1 and u will get the value of T as 3.

Sir, in question no. 5 you have assumed that both hemispheres of the earth equally share the total resources(i.e. Land and water). Hence, you did... 3x/2. But if we don't make this assumption(as it is not given explicitly), we can still solve the problem and the answer will be 3:4. Am I right?

Virat The Golden man of india As you will see the difference between the ratios is not same... so you have to make the difference equal... 6:1 x 1 = 6:1 2:1 x 5 =10:5 Now the difference is equal that is 4... 15 years back and 5 year from now = 20 years... So 4 = 20 Therefore 1= 5 Now put the value of 1 year in any of the ratio... like in 15 years back... 6 : 1 x 5 = 30 : 5... So after 15 years.. means now 30 + 15 = 45 ANSWER
