What I have observed is that the students of my class have this tendency of repeating things. I remember an incident when my class teachers were scolding the students for some mischief and they were just thinking the period gets over and she goes. For their deeds the teacher should have suspended them but ....... So I feel that 2nd chances don't work always sometimes punishments are also important.
