I’ve eaten some with hot sausage mixed in with the sauerkraut, which was really tasty. The sausage was cooked and loose and I’m sure with the meat added you have to bring up the temp and maybe pressure also.

YES! That’s exactly how I remember having it as a child, my aunt and uncle who made them are passed on, I so wish I could get my hands on their recipe

@@shelbybryan8107 check some of your local cookbooks that are done as fundraisers. There maybe a recipe there. If your aunt and uncle are from the same area.

Very tasty! I've made this 3 times and love it. I use store bought sauerkraut and it turns out great. Thank you for making this video! I was searching the web for days and finally came across it. This recipe is exactly how I remembered the stuffed peppers when I was a kid.

yum. wow that sounds great. never seen them done that way. here we usually stuff them with sausage, put them in foil containers, spread spaghetti sauce on them with mushrooms, put grated cheese over it all an put in freezer. then at camp you can set them right on the grate next to the fire to cook, sometimes if they seem to be sticking, you can even add a little red wine to the pan. yummy.

Hello, I just watched your video on how to season a mortar and pestle. I'm going to do just whay you said with mine today, but I was wondering what you think about people oiling the pestle and mortar and baking it to seal it even more?
@donaldporta5 жыл бұрын
i'm not familiar with that--- my question would be, the oil might taint the flavors or possibly even go rancid.

Donald how to do this if you want to stuff garlic in it? Would that taste good? Also, how do people stuff sausage in it? Won't the sausage go bad if it's left outside the fridge for a long time even if it's in the brine solution? Thanks

I stuff mine with beef hot dogs 😋😋

I find that if you boil them they get soggy, instead I just pour the hot mix over them to blanch. Let the jars tighten and that’s it.
@donaldporta4 жыл бұрын
you can do that if stored in fridge. thanks for the info.

There’s stuff called “pickle crisp”. They look like large granules of salt. 1/4 tsp in each quart jar and it will keep the veggies crisp and not soggy.
