Crying doesn't take away from strength..It builds it. Grief is just another expression of love. Never feel weak because you cry. Just being able to pick up and move forward shows a great deal of strength and love for your and Andrea's children. And they will always respect that.

One thing I like about this family is that their home isn't in mint condition and they aren't afraid to show it or have people over. Many other KZbinrs have picture perfect homes and large homes and there is nothing wrong with that, but there is also nothing wrong with a small home that is well lived in with worn features.

My parents also did not “do” Santa or the Easter Bunny etc for my brother and me. They felt that it could be construed as lying by us once we eventually realized the truth, and they too wanted our focus to be on Christ. Also, they wanted to instill in us a sense of thankfulness, realizing the gifts under the tree were purchased for us out of love by people who cared about us, and to always thank them and have a spirit of gratitude. We attended a Christian school, and most (but not all) of the other kids were raised the same way, but we were taught to never ever ruin it for other children who did think Santa was real. Not once have I ever felt any resentment or that I missed out on something by not believing in Santa. I kinda liked “being in the know”, and that my parents respected me enough to be honest with me. =)

Tom my mom left 6 years ago (divorce, her idea) and my dad had 6 kids to take care of. You remind me of him! Sort of different situation but my dad worked so hard to keep us together and when he succeeded he had to start everything from scratch on his own. He decorated a new house, had to cook, clean, take care of everything, help kids with schoolwork, clothes shopping, doing all the traditions, all while being miserable and working full time. Everything is so much better now. It got better with time... we are so much closer now. God bless you! All I wanted to say was that I admire and respect my dad so much more now because I saw him actually LIVE OUT the things that he taught us all those years. And that was a blessing.

Here is my 2 cents on entering another relationship soon after losing a spouse. I think some people need a wife or husband in their life to feel whole. I have a co worker who lost his wife suddenly. He met someone and remarried in less than a year. He still loved and cherished his first wife's memory, but he couldn't function by himself. He still says a part of his heart belongs to Kim's memory, but he whole heartedly loves his current wife. We all saw the pieces come back together when he remarried.

The difference once he remarried was amazing to see. However he would tell you today he still loves his first wife. With all that said your heart will tell you what you need.

Deb Clevinger not our call of course but like having additional children, our hearts expand. Loving someone does not diminish the love we have had for others. It will be interesting to see how things play out. No matter what nobody can question the depth of the love between Andrea and Tom. The grieving is intense because the love was/is intense.

My dad remarried 11 months after my mom died. He was happy with my step-mom for 16 beautiful years. Unfortunately he divorced her and remarried his high school sweet heart and was married to her for 10 yrs before she passed. To me it shows that your 1st marriage was a good one ! My dad still over my mom too... Moma and Daddy were married for 21 years before she died.

A man at my church lost his wife he loved to ovarian cancer. He married a woman that is in our congregation that had been single for years, in less than a year. The Bible says it's ok to remarry when your spouse dies and never gives a timeline, so it's ok to remarry whenever.

I'm catching this very late. I LOVE the stockings and I hope your kids stuff yours. I had a Christmas where everyone had a stuffed ones and mine was flat as a pancake. that only happened once. mines been full ever since! Just fun to go through. I went through a lot of loss last year and have had to learn a new normal. the emotions ebb and flow and something can trigger a thought and a memory in a moment. I just roll with it because it's part of the process. Navigating life without the people we love is so hard but somehow we manage with God's guidance. you will always have the void in your heart from Andrea's passing. God will bring you the person at the perfect time for you and the children, not to replace Andrea but add to your life.

I think stocking stuffings is hilarious. Your beard is great like it is. I could totally relate to what you said about not having someone to share what looks how on you. My husband didn’t get to see me after my drastic weight loss because he was in NC and died there. We have been together for twenty years. He was in NC after my mother-in-law passed. He had been up there since trying to close out the house she left us when he had a seizure. I was here in Texas. It’s been beyond devastating and I feel lost. Your Bible study also helps because I too feel angry. It’s been less than nine weeks and I’m so grateful that you are sharing these videos. I giggled when you kept saying stocking stuffings. Your vulnerabilities are powerful. I’m feeling the exact same and I thought I would go insane until I found your videos. Don’t misunderstand. I’m so sad for you too. I wish neither of us ever had to lose our life partners. I’m just grateful to you for sharing what I just can’t wrap my mournful head around. Thank you.

Just an idea...my girlfriend and I would always spend time and thought to fill our families' stockings but nobody ever did ours, so we started doing each other's. We get together for lunch a week or two before Christmas to exchange a bag of stuff. Our kids put the stuff in our stockings for us.

When it comes to food so many have issues about can't have this, can't have that. We ate what was available. Meat and potatoes, cookies, pies, chocolate and etc. We are in our 70s and ate whatever we wanted and was available. Just because we ate sugar doesn't mean we didn't eat healthy stuff.

Hopefully your family life is starting to settle into some kind of routine but it cannot be easy, Your kids are very kind and caring toward each other. You say you’re ready to meet someone but do you have opportunity to meet anyone new? It might be a subscriber or a local woman who knows extended members of your family who will yet prove to be your best friend and confidante. Maybe when you are least expecting that miracle, One will occur. 😌 Pray that all continues to run smoothly and your children continue to thrive.
