How deep does it trench? I assume the same 6" that it can grind a stump below ground?

Yes, whatever depth it will grind a stump is the same depth as the trench.

Can usually pick up an actual trench wheel for those and they only cost about $40 cdn. Sounds like you know how to sharpen the teeth on your own so it may not matter much.

I was surprised how the carbide teeth cut through the rocks without chipping. Really was not that dull after all of that trenching.
