FYI: the cow is not dead yet. Modern stunners don't usually penetrate into the brain to prevent mad cow disease in the brain from spreading. The cow basically got the most intense knockout punch to the head possible.

New to info on how animals are slaughtered. My q. Is when the machine uses that gun to knock out in the head of animal ,are they dead? Or just unconscious? If the animal is only knock out do they wake up before the machine cutting up the animal? Or still unconscious while the blades cut the animal up??? I'm new to this. Sorry if I appear not educated on this topic... I seen on other web sites that cows wake up and freaked out trying to get out. I couldn't watch anymore.
