Stunning 4K SKYSHOW Artemis 1 Video

Some interesting details about this one.
First, for Artemis NASA rebuilt the flame deflector at pad 39B to change from the shuttle-era "split direction" configuration to one which deflected the full 8.8 million pounds of thrust to the North. We happened to be the closest humans to the launch, just north of the launch. We experienced a sonic force we don't think anyone has seen or felt before. You can see it 8 seconds into the video.
Second, the post-shutdown "fireworks" from the solid boosters starting around 4 minutes 40 seconds were unexpectedly beautiful.
This was an OUTSTANDING launch to experience and we are happy to share this with you. We are really looking forward to Artemis 2.

Uninterrupted raw sound feel like another dimension. Crackles and disapearing of sound put context in the sureal visual, even the bird at 2:50 make it real. Color compression hurt a bit around the blackness but its free so... Nice 1-2s moving wallpaper to extract in the last 30s. Thx for sharing your work.

I started watching Artemis 1 launch sideways when I thought, "Respect, you inebriated, space-happy, KZbin-addicted, cat-grandpa, your most excellent $99 Walmart monitor is mounted to that Neo-Flex stand you bought from Newegg ages ago (tech-wise)." I clicked pause, rewound (heh.....that's dating me even more!) to the beginning, rotated the monitor to portrait mode, and after cleaning up the drink I spilled, clicked Play. Glorious. :D

Wow! Look at the amazing difference between the SRB combustion and the RS25 combustion at 5:00! All the carbon particles in the srb exhaist makes it deep red while the hydrolox reaction is perfect white! Amazing footage!

Stunning footage; as a kid who grew up with SRBs as part of everyday conversation, it's so gorgeous seeing that brief bit where you can see the shock waves moving through the air and causing condensation clouds at liftoff. One of the things you almost can't appreciate without seeing it in person is how cool it is seeing those shock waves move through the plume during static tests on the ground; it's a visceral experience.
