The concept of "Cry for Me" is basically telling your partner to cry for her the same way she has cried for you while you were still together because she has not seen you show emotion thru out your relationship, in the end asking you to just "die". Kinda dark..... but we love some angry dark TWICE. Maybe this was one of the reasons JYP didn't want the girls to release this song in the first place, but they fought for this song and they got to release it on MAMA 2020.

The lyrics video had some wrong translation. Basically, the song is about a girl trying to take revenge on the guy who cheated on her, pretending that she still love him and to break his heart at the end. But as she continue pretending, she started to love him again, so she is in a dilemma...

That's right, especially the last part by Chaeyoung. It should have been 'i want you to die for me' and her choreo for that part was on point and really gave ONCEs goosebumps when they have first revealed it (as a gift to ONCEs btw) in their MAMA 2020 performance.. ONCEs are all clueless right after it ended, we didn't know if it was a cover song or a new song or whatever, just a total surprise for everyONCEs! 😂
