This adventure is a 2 day fall canoe trip in Algonquin Provincial Park, paddling from Smoke Lake to Park Lake. It is a short but very relaxing fall canoe trip that showcases the vibrant autumn colours of the hardwood forest. There is nothing quite like a fall canoe trip in Algonquin!

Excellent video, greatly appreciated. I canoed from Park Lake to Ragged Falls along the Oxtonquie River earlier this year (video will eventually arrive on channel - grin) and I had wondered what the Smoke Lake to Park Lake route was like. Now I know! If you haven't gone down the Oxtonque I highly recommend it as well. Thanks for sharing a very enjoyable video!

I'm very familiar with the section of the Oxtongue river between Tea lake and Ragged Falls. I've paddled the whole stretch before and just smaller sections on day trips. It would be nice to paddle the rest of the river in high water and run the rapids down stream. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!

Very nice colours with the drone. I find the non maintained ports well worth it to avoid the crowds. Nice fall trip, thanks for sharing.

I completely agree. Algonquin can be overly busy especially in the summer and most avoid the unmaintained areas. I plan routes looking for them. Thanks for checking out the video!

One of the reasons it is hard to beat 'near-north' Ontario, the fall colours! You really captured it at the perfect time Alec and Paige, and a great reason to get the canoe out on the water. Looking forward to seeing what you have lined up for the cold weather season. Keep adventuring!

Yeah two trips in a row with no fish, that's the way it goes sometimes. I just got back from a canoe trip though and we caught lots of bass which made up for it. That video will be coming. Thanks for commenting Stephen!

Nice report. Thanks for making the effort. I know it is so much more work than the trip by its self would be. Are Ostrom bags available again or have you had the portage pack awhile?
@AleconAdventures
@AleconAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Making a video does add a lot of work but I'm used to it. That Ostrom bag is new, they started selling them again this summer. I know a few people with older versions who love them and when I heard they were back in business I preordered a bag right away. Thanks for watching!
