Gorgeous setting and finish indeed. One gap in the video - no mention of heating in this video ( or on the listing) - there appears to be a space heater in the kitchen. Energy certificate on the linked listing is a D? Potential for high electricity costs in winter. Adding a wood burner + principal bath would add substantially to the investment required.

I live in the NWUK. We bought our Saddleworth style detached home in the late 90's for £135,000. It had about 1/3 of an acre garden. We had planning permission for part of that, which we have since sold and someone has built a house on the small bit of land. We still have a sizable garden, and best of all, selling off that bit of land didn't alter the value of our property. We sold the land for £75,000. The current value of our property is £550,000. Not a bad investment, I reckon. We're looking to sell our home soon. It's nice to know we'll be able to sell our home and buy a property akin to this, and still have money left over. We were considering retiring in Italy. But, the more I see Portugal, the more I love the landscape. It's lush and rugged. I wish this house could be available when we're ready to move. The garden is incredible and I'd definitely make a natural swimming pool by the falls. My only issue would be the house being a tad smaller then I'd like. Adding a bathroom upstairs is a must. Shame it wasn't on 3 floors. The garden is so irresistible, I reckon you could tolerate a small house.

1 thing I've noticed about Portugal, you dont really need to lock the house or your tool sheds! Its like how we use to live in the 70s but 50yrs later...its amazing! And so is the house ❤

I can’t get over the price of some of these splendid properties, outrageously cheap, in my opinion, compared to prices here in Canada. You do a terrific job with your videos and getting top notch real estate agents to show us around. I only wish that I were there!

Yes, that’s the sad truth, unfortunately. Your government should make changes and have some incentives for it’s people. They wanted to improve the economy by allowing expats to work there without thinking of the consequences. I love to see these videos as my parents were originally from Portugal. It brings me back to my roots.

@@Ana-ws6xj that’s what is/has happened in various countries even here in the UK the Russians came over with their now found wealth and started buying up big houses in central London and then would spend millions doing them up. This then had a rippling effect on house prices as people had to move out of London and commute from up to 75 miles into central London and now the first time buyers can’t afford to buy their first property unless they are fortune enough to be able to tap the bank of mam and dad or they have worked hard for a couple of years and not given their parents anything for keep and saved all their wages,then they can afford to buy a house but not in London or within say 50 miles of central London.

Ace video really watchable, informative enough without being too much. We've just had to cut our visit to Portugal short from 2 weeks to 5 days so didn't manage to get to the Central parts. Ended up spending most of them in Sesimbra. I blame you personally for the amount of searching online for houses there 😂😂😂 I feel I may be addicted! We will be coming again hopefully in a few months time to look for a house there so if you see two pale English people looking lost around then it'll probably be me and my wife 😂

What a lovely home in a stunning position with some nice furnishings. The upstairs shower room would be a bonus, especially if you could fit in a bidet 😸. Good to see they've been cleaning the land of pine for fire safety but I suppose you then get soil erosion, something else needs planting to keep the stability of the ground but I wonder what's best for that. You'd see it from the house if it was planted up with some colourful shrubs but definitely not rhododendron! Thank you Nick & Gloria for making my Monday morning coffee more interesting. 💐

Fantastic craftsmanship starting right away with the calçada driveway and patio wrapping around the home, the stonework, carpentry, tile, finishes… top drawer in my opinion. A slice of heaven. The falls and ponds are a big plus. The plant by the big pond is a papyrus plant. The house is beautifully done. But truly the only oversight is the lack of the bathroom off the top floor bedroom. With such attention to detail why did they not build that in to start with. Is there an issue we don’t know about? At any rate very nice overall and the property is unique and gorgeous at a fair price. If I were overseas this would definitely be a contender. ❤

​@@destino2portugal Absolutely I've been watching your channel since the very beginning....and your confidence and camera work has skyrocketed !!!😁👍 About one year ago I was looking at a certain property in Portugal and employed a buyers agency to check it out for me... no video, parts of the property outbuildings that were of interest to me completely missed out, many questions left unanswered... and so I dismissed the property as probably being unsuitable. Then a few months later you and Paula did a visit /video of the same property....during the visit and through your video you perfectly answered all my outstanding questions, left no stone unturned! Unfortunately that doesn't say much for the person I employed. For now my own move to Portugal has hit some snags, the completion on sale of my property has fallen through mainly due to rising interest rates/Truss - economics 🙄 However I've since returned to the drawing-board my property in SW Wales is back on the market, and I have already had some interest shown in it, and so onwards and upwards Portugal still the destination !!! May I ask you a question about this particular property, I think from your drone footage that I have worked out how you would access the first terrace by tractor. But how do you get a tractor down to the second terrace and the rest of the land ? And my final question hoping its not too cheeky as its nothing to do with the property in question. I am in the market for a camera drone, but am very confused by the price differences of said drones, .They seem to range from just above 0 to thousands of £ .. and everyone claims to be the best camera drone on the planet 😄 Your drone footage is always impressive, may I please ask what drone you use ?

Be very careful in this part of Portugal to buy a proprtie v, there are a lot of forest fires(eucaliptol and pine) a dream place can transform in lunar landscape, Pedrogão had some years ago a big forest fire with a lot of deads
