The Vampire is an awesome looking airframe. Very unique design. Nice soft touchdown before the gear collapsed. See you in the Air!

Hmm! My Durafly Vampire is the bane of my existence too. But sometimes the heart just wants what it wants. 😟

Given it a 'like' for your camera work, Dom, but can't say I liked the flight!

We all have flights like that Keith. Frustrating when the cause of these issues is something so minor. Catch you at a show soon no doubt.

Is there no grass to land on for belly landings?

Wow that build looks amazing. What is it made out of? How did they get the silver to look so real?

I would have thought he could have landed it in the long grass, crop field

Just fabulous sight and sound against the backdrop of a threatening sky. Did anyone see the original that ripped up a runway strip on takeoff?😱
@EssentialRC2 жыл бұрын
I saw that Derrick. Probably an indication it needed replacing anyway.

@@EssentialRC That's great to hear, any redundancy built in since this incident ?

@@PhantomMark Sorry but I don't know. I suspect the owner will have improved it. He's one of our best designer/builders for large models in the country.

He never did a gear pass. This is why you gotta do a gear pass!

It wouldn't have mattered.

@@EssentialRC It would have alerted him to keep cycling his gears until all 3 are properly down.
@brad-in-flight2 жыл бұрын
The model actually lost all its air during the flight, due to an airline touching the turbine. No amount of cycling would have helped. The pilot is a very experienced show flyer. These things happen unfortunately.

He made 2 passes with the gear extended…..

nearly always dodgy frail retracts that fail with models, unless it's a WW1 then it will flip over on landing
