I'm not sure if anyone else replied about the jar but most of your pickle jars are not marked, I use the real big ones they are great, I'm definitely going to try this its pretty, it would be nice on any nightstand as a night light..

large pickle jars you get the kosher dill pickles at Walmart they are free and work great. to rid it of the pickle smell soak it overnight with a mix of dish soap and baking soda fill with water and let it soak overnight

You could hot glue the trees in before you put the snow in then they won’t fall around. I just love the look of that.

You might try a dab of hot glue on the trees and placed in with (if you hand doesn't fit) then pour in the snow

That I am not sure of. I’d test the photo option by putting whatever medium you’re using on the photo itself to see what it does. If the mouth of your jar is large enough maybe don’t take a chance and decoupage your picture inside the jar putting the medium on the back of your photo.
