It winds around the base of the Uri Alps Vierwaldstätter See, translated: Four Forested Cantons Lake. Also known as Lake Lucerne. We will drive through century-old mountain tunnels and past beautiful Alpine villages. There are numerous picnic areas along the older sections of the Axenstrasse where you can relax, take a break and enjoy the stunning nature. In summer it is very popular to swim in the lake.
