When I first started, and had my white belt. I couldnt even remember anything when it was time for my promotion to move onto my yellow belt. Almost everybody cried on the plank, because where I go, you do it for 5 minutes. And after my first promotion, I felt like an idiot. And I wanted to quit. But after 7 years of training and my promotions. I got to help other beginners. And I got to be a camp counselor. And I felt good about it. When I got my black belt. I was proud that I had trained, and used my time to do what I could to get better, and improve. I'm an 18 year old btw. And my older sister has been in taekwondo about her whole life. And we enjoy being at taekwondo. For those beginners out there, don't give up, just keep trying. And soon enough, you'll have what you've been waiting for. You are amazing.💙💎☺️ *NO HATE PLS, AND THANK YOU FOR DROPPING BY*

Btw, I got my first degree black belt. Forgot to mention...We promote every two months. That only applies if you have enough classes. Which depends on belt level. Kids promote easily, because they have only 7 movements. Adults/Teens have to do 18-36 movements. But every time you move up a belt level, you don't have to remember the past forms you've done. Trust me, I forgot all of my past forms. Especially Tan-Gun. That was the hardest for me. Lol, at that time, I realized I sucked at it. It was fun though going through all experiences in taekwondo. TEAMWORK is what was important the most...And paying attention. I love it, it's just that I don't want to give up. I've always wanted to reach better levels. So that's what's gonna happen. I can't let myself down for failure and laziness. Which I am sometimes. But idc. It's normal. I can't just be the only couch potato, right?

I started taekwondo when I was 10, now i am 13 and I LOVE IT. i am now a black belt😁. and for those of u wanting to do taekwondo it’s not to late there was this woman who trained with me, she started when she was 43 and now she’s 46 and a black belt. so it’s never to late. it dosent matter what age u are, if u work hard u can complete anything❤️ Edit: For everyone in the comments saying that my black belt is fake ,it’s not. In fact my black belt came from kukkiwon(headquarters of taekwondo) in korea, and i am a state champion. All schools are different but mostly in taekwondo there is no age minimum to get ur black belt. Atleast for the headquarters at taekwondo that’s how it is. For example kids in korea could get it as young as 5. and as they get older they progress to be rlly rlly good. For example the people in this video i’m guessing probably got their black belts at a young age which is why they are so good now at their age. sheesh yall rlly gotta just hate on everything.

I remember watching this video three years ago when I was first starting Taekwondo. Whenever I rewatch this now, I remember the wonder that comes with starting your first martial art and learning something new every class. Now, things feel quite different. I'm currently at 4th geup, which I achieved just as quarantine regulations were relaxed in my country. I still learn new things, but now it's more about perfecting what you know and developing nerves of steel.

Funny that I'm back here again. Didn't remember leaving this comment until I saw it again. Maybe I should leave another one, then come back to it again in a few years. A week before being promoted to 1st dan, I actually coached my original instructor (the one who trained me when I was a beginner) during his championship matches earlier this year. He earned 2nd place. Now I've started teaching several classes at my club, including the beginner's class. It's kinda wild to think about. Starting Taekwondo means going on a journey that will take you to incredible places, and it sure as hell doesn't end at black belt.

I just turned fifteen and I’ve wanted to do taekwando for a while but I felt like it was to late since most people start when they are very young but I decided that it was better late than never so I’ll start after summer break is over. I also started practicing nunchucks which is really fun. Just wanted to say that if you want to do taekwando of any other kind of martial art do it and don’t hesitate just because you feel like it’s too late. :)

hi, i’m also 15 and just want to say thank you because i really like taekwondo but felt like it was way too late for me. then i just saw your comment and thought “okay i’ll definitely start taekwondo!” thank you!!!

I am also fifteen and although I am a 1st degree black belt,I know plenty of teenagers and even adults who are beginners and are still learning basics and to be honest it can be better to start as a teenager or adult rather than a young kid because you will have a deeper understanding and appreciation of what you are doing and this will help you become an awesome black belt!

George Willow Congrats, I'm just idling around 5th kyu for months now. Do you rly think your legs could endure such a hard pressure as in Taekwondo?
@georgewillow1129 жыл бұрын
userwhosinterestedin Yeah, I do. Fortunately, I've played football for 9 years before I started with karate, and I've always been super flexible. Thanks to that, my main strength in karate are kicks, mainly those that you dont use so often (ura-mawashi geri, ushiro ura-mawashi geri, kekomi mid-air etc.), and I'm usually called by my fellow friends as the best 'kicker' in our dojo. Nevertheless, kicks from karate are just not enough for me, and so I wanna start learning Taekwondo next year, solely for the kicks. I also tried learning some Kung Fu kicks, but those take time to practice, although they're fairly easy in execution and very useful in battle.

Getting used to that stress in combat is key, a lot of people who practice these kicks have no idea what it's like to actually get into a fight. Chances are you'll weight someone in who's practice this shit because they have no idea how to fight against an aggressive person who really wants to teach them a lesson. If you wanna take anything up let it be boxing.

I’m currently 11 and I practiced aikido for about a month but then my sports where more demanding, my dojo was still open so when ever you could come in you can, but I never did. I still remember some of the practices because it’s only been about a year. I also want to do kendo and Taekwondo to, but I don’t know if I can balance all the sports with the others. I also worry that I’m to “old” to start practicing again. I went down a rabbit hole well right now and I realized how much I want to learn and practice these amazing arts that my previous ancestors have created. I’ve always dreamed of doing amazing things not just for the power, I actually don’t care about that at all, but I want to learn the discipline, spiritual well-being, tradition in culture, but also to help with my sports. I don’t know if I should do it considering the being of the world right now. #alllivesmatter ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

I started learning tae kwon do in the early 80's, and can confirm that it emphasizes kicks more than punches (about 70% at least); one of my uncles was a 9th dan black belt (he had his own school). Although the kicks are very different from those of deadly muy thai kickboxing, they can still cause incredible damage if they connect......
