For those curious as to why Americans celebrate St Patrick's Day short answer: immigrants Long answer: So back in the 1840s Ireland was going through an event called the Irish Famine where a deadly fungus began causing potatoes to rot, leading to millions starving to death (A lot of them were poor and lived of land rented to them by the British with potatoes being the only food accessible to them due to how easy it was to grow) In an attempt to find a better life, the Irish emigrated to places like the UK and the US (particularly in states like NY and Boston). Thus spreading the tradition of St Patrick's Day to the US.

I think the reason halloween was kinda not as big this year was 1. Covid made it so that an entire halloween passed, and unlike christmas, Halloween isn’t celebrated all month long and mainly just do it for the week of halloween and so many people just didn’t bother the two years after covid. 2.There isn’t as much passion for halloween, sure online it has tons of love, but in the real world many people don’t really care 3. People realizing these things. I didn’t go trick or treating this year because I realized these things and thought no one else would go. Turns out I was correct.

Okay, but the thing is, if you want to do the “reverse roles” argument, like he did in the video, there men don’t want to celebrate Mother’s Day, you have to switch up our whole society as well. Because I, and many others I know, have a dad that doesn’t put in nearly as much work into parenting as mothers do. That’s why many girls are mad at Father’s Day. I still think that good fathers deserve a holiday, but girls have legitimate a reason for not liking that holiday

I remember one of my classmates asked in class in 3rd Grade “Why do we celebrate a holiday over an animal that don’t got magical at all, they are never right.” Then my teacher said “They are right 30 - 40 percent of the time☝️🤓”. So I said “If it don’t give me a day off school then I don’t care.” Then I got sent to the principals office and we both could care less. Not even the principal took it seriously.

The real reason, why Americans celebrate most holidays: It's an excuse to get drunk
