You can encourage bad behavior by being nice to these heinous outliers but the rest of us will try to drive them away from the group unless they rehabilitate. THAT is doing good and being good. Letting them feel like they are acting in an acceptable way is encouraging them to victimize the weaker (or less intelligent) members of our social species.
