When giving evidence under oath to the parliamentary committee investigating her government's handling of the Alex Salmond affair she said nothing about having to intervene to prevent him from bullying people who worked for him. Sturgeon and her cronies have made it difficult to openly talk about the fall out with Salmond. However I have shared a table with Alex Salmond and his lovely wife Moira and I know which side I am on. To add further spice I dislike sturgeon more than thatcher!

I think most people's concern was that she didn't say anything until after his death! A few years ago she went as far as saying he was the opposite of a mysoginist and she laughed at the suggestion he would be otherwise. He has no right of reply. She's just trying to sell her book, plain and simple.

I’m speculating but I think what most activists, SNP and ALBA, really want is the attacks on both ex FMs by the others ‘supporters’ to just stop. I was a foot soldier for Alex in Banff & Buchan when he was first elected, and in that band of Salmondistas, but equally worked with Nicola. Neither was/is a saint, been on the sharp end of disagreements with both. But hate seeing the fallout and bitterness fuelled more by lieutenants than principals. Like Bernard I think for Moira to speak out publicly is a big move and I hope that the message gets through, and I think John’s reaction is welcome in that respect.

Can see Labour win Scottish parliament elections May 2026 no Thomas politically no. SNP win with 50.MSP's. Labour get 22 seats again yes. Constituency seats SNP retain them all 73 seats yes they win 40 seats
