You may as well include British then, since they took part in the operation too (unless you very specifically refer to the fighting taking place in the geographical location of the pass, in which case there would be no Italians)

So much misinformation in just one comment; leaving aside the fact that Rommel's Afrikakorp was 1/4 of the axis forces present in all of North Africa, the "infantry" component was almost exclusively Italian infantry. During the battle the 5th Bersaglieri Regiment and a battalion of motorcyclist Bersaglieri were responsible for breaking the front in the city of Djebel. The mixed armored forces of the Centauro Division and the 10th Panzer Division slipped into the breach along the road to Tebessa. Precisely at Bou Chebka Pass the 5th Italian regiment together with a group of self-propelled 75/18s and 15 German panzers launched an assault against the American lines which was however broken following a counterattack, it is no coincidence that the number of Italian prisoners captured by the Americans was far superior to that of the German prisoners.

This proved how experienced and battle hardened the Afrika korps was and how fresh green relatively new to combat the first American troops were.

At the days prior to Kasserine Pass battle Rommel had a Nightmare during the night: Rommel:"Tomorrow will be the battle so it will be great." Rommel:"There is a monster underneath my bed." Rommel:"It is the worst creature i have ever seen in my life!" Rommel:"My Logistics."
