I had a classmate that stuttered a lot, teachers never let him read in class, because it took longer with his stuttering. I do stutter too, but not like this and since I'm quite popular in my school, I began to fake a stutter and told everyone that I stutter and that they shouldn't make fun of people that have something uncommon or differences, then the teasing towards him stopped.
