Cornette made a great point in his look back at brawl for all. When brawl for all happened. Ken shamrock and Dan Severn were in the locker room... JBL was a mid level guy at the time and wasnt shooting off at the mouth with 2 future ufc hall of famers ... Russo came up with that reasoning years and years later when it became a thing to claim JBL was a bully

I think Jim Ross should also be held accountable for constantly telling everyone that Dr. Death was going to beat everyone becasue this also hurt Dr. Death's atmosphere backstage. Some of the guys who fought in this have gone on record saying they were tired of hearing Ross say Dr. Death was going to win and when he got knocked out, they all cheered. Ross was talking about prime Dr. Death and I'm sure this got into Dr. Death's head. By the time he had gotten to the WWF, he was well past his prime and was beat up from years of Japanese strong style wrestling. I think both Russo and Ross deserve the criticism they get, if any. Russo for booking it and Ross for alienating and annoying the guys in the locker room. Ross put an unnecessary target on Doc's head. The guys in the locker room were out for blood.

SO much ado about something. Of course, the great man needs you as a funnel. It's ultimately cheaper than having you as a loose cannon. Beware of buyer's remorse. From your WIkipedia page: On February 23, 2019, it was reported that WWE had officially signed Prichard on to join their creative team.[2] In March, it was reported that Prichard would be working as WWE's Senior Vice President.[1] The truth recedes, but your utility increases. A fair trade, in the business.

Dr Death might have won the whole thing if he hadn’t tore his hamstring against Bart Gunn. He still came out for the 3rd round after doing that. Not surprised that this was a Vince Russo idea. His idea sucked. I dont think Bart was supposed to win this. If this wasn't to build up a challenger to Steve Austin, what the hell was the point then? Then Bart won, I can only imagine a holy shit moment backstage cause as much as Bruce can say it wasnt supposed to be build up moment for Dr Death that is stupid. IF you are a Jr find, Vince wants to get you on TV as soon as possible. When this failed, I can also imagine them trying to pass the buck onto someone cause this failed and made them look stupid for even trying.

But at the same time you could say look at mma. in MMA Conor McGregor is a fucking badass who would kill Floyd Mayweather but in just boxing, he got his ass beat. For one, the risk of injury in this could’ve jeopardized their UFC careers and might have caused them to miss some big UFC PPV events. Second: if they competed and lost to one of the competitors who had no pro or amateur fighting background of any type, that could’ve hurt their drawing power in the UFC. Like a “Shamrock couldn’t even beat Bob Holley in the WWF, why should we pay him big time money at a pay per view to fight Chuck Lidell??” scenario playing out.

Butterbean couldn’t move well enough to be the actual heavyweight champion but he could hit like a truck. They knew Butterbean would beat the piss out of him, given what we know about concussions now it’s even worse...

Nick Poeschek totally agree with you. Horrible idea. The only reason they booked Bart Gunn with butterbean at WM15 was so he could get his arse kicked because the WWF office was pissed because Gunn beat their golden boy Dr Death, Steve Williams. The plan was for Williams to win it and face Austin at WM. Then he tore his hamstring against Gunn. Stupid idea. Absolutely awful.

It seems like the majority of wrestling personalities are trying to rewrite history a little bit as if people didn´t find the brawl for all entertaining but all of my friends at school that watched wrestling at the time loved it, I remember we were always pumped up about it and ratings were good, if they weren´t then they wouldn´t have kept doing the brawl for all so obviously people were watching it, it was something different, cool

@@M97-u8t yeah, when I was a young teenager in Jr/High school I thought the Brawl for All was an interesting change up, granted some of the fights looked like two highschool freshman fighting swinging for the fences with no fighting skill, some of the fights *were* entertaining.... its just very fucked up what they did to Bart, they should've given him a big push and see what happens

I watched the dark side of the ring about this. Bruce is lying about it all. Bart Gunn the guy that won this was promised a main event push as were all the boys who were in bawl for all. Management thought Dr. Death was sure to win that is what J.R. was pushing. And when Bart knocked out Dr. Death management looked like idiots. Bart asked if he beat Dr. Death he was going to get his main event push they laughed at him think Bart was going to lose then Bart won.

I love when people come on and bitched about ads. they don't get paid to do this. The only money they get is from ads. People love listening to shit like this but then whine and complain about a minute-long add a handful of times through a hour-and-a-half broadcast. there are always going to be ads and commercials and shit like this. Otherwise we don't get cool shit like this. And what kind of fucking bratty piece of shit baby announces that they are unsubscribing. What a bitch

I remember watching this "Brawl for the All" and I could only think how these guys were lucky I wasn't involved in it. I am serious. When I fight, something happens, I just snap. I am more monster than man in that moment, I scream as loud as I can, I close my eyes and I just start windmill throwing punches left, right, left, left again, right, up, down, all around... nobody... and I mean NOBODY can defend against it, too many punches, they hit too damn hard and they come too damn fast. I have never lost a fight. NEVER. And never will. You do NOT mess with me, I can promise you that. You don't.

If you ever wondered if Marc mero could fight jbl you wudnt picture em with gloves and amateur head gear doing rounds and takedowns and score cards would you.I always picture the guys fighting in a a bar/hotel lobby/room/corridor /parking area or backstage with the guys holding anybody else back until one was either knocked out or injured beyond competition ie they aren't a knock out fighter so shoot tied em up etc etc the brawl for all was like really bad mma .they way they had built it up I was so dissapointed either have shoot fights that are good or have a ko or stick with rasslin either way it ruined he show as the top rasslers being booked on top wanted no part of it so made everybody look weaker!!!
