Please don't paint the piano. As you said, there's just no going back from that. If anything maybe paint the wall behind it or make that an accent wall with wallpaper or another fun technique. But let the true history of the piano be as it is and speak for itself. Just my humble opinion.

Same. I vote no paint. Add color by adding bright colored accent pieces on the top. Play with different heights. Tall colored glass. I used to paint everything when I had my first house, now I love natural wood. My 2 cents :)

Painting pianos will change the sound and tone of the instrument. Don’t do it!

Nooooo don't paint the piano. I actually like how it almost looks like it's built into the wall and adds some texture and warmth to the room. Original is almost always better with wood in my opinion

Your house is stunning and I am obsessed with the wallpaper, turned out so good!! ❤ the artwork is so beautiful too! I would advise against painting the piano. I have been playing since I was 5 and my mom painted our piano when I was young and it was a pain and it never, ever looked good. Ours was a antique massive upright tho. She still talks about it and how it kinda ruined it. I would suggest painting the wall behind it. But that’s just me, you gotta do you. 😉

I agree, just as long as the paint doesn’t harm the instrument itself. Something to ask a piano maker about.

Love the strawberry wallpaper! So cute! I would definitely vote against painting the piano, but maybe paint the wood paneled wall behind it? We painted all our wood paneling when we moved into our 1957 home and never regretted it. It went from feeling like a dark cave to feeling like a bright and airy space. But the piano is so beautiful as is!

Please don't paint your beautiful piano. I get that its a lot of wood; with the wall and other piece of furniture next to it. Do you have a plain painted wall to place the piano? Wonderful art work and decor. The drawer pulls are adorable.

I'm enjoying your aesthetic. You can just offset the wood of the piano with decoration as you partially have done or you can paint it. Changing things up and around is fine.

I’m going against popular opinion because I LOVE painted pianos! Unless it’s a family heirloom or something truly valuable as an antique, paint is actually not permanent, you can always take something back to wood, although it’s a lot of work.

Just incase you like them...I think the piano would look amazing in a orange-red, or light olivegreen, or light blue. I would love to see your kitchen painted yellow. And maybe the brick wall in white, and why not hanging big big art on the brick wall too? And the bricks with the stones in the hallway, painted in white too. With plants instead of stones? I actually really like the wood piano against the wood paneling. It kind of camouflages the piano. But exactly how you did it, add some colorful items on top or a colorful piece of art above it! Maybe even a red sheet music stand?

I have that very same mirror. It’s in my bedroom, by my vanity. Love it too, it’s always reminded me of the number 80. I will have to get those knobs for my brown wooden dresser that is very similar to yours. My favorite animal is the giraffe to collect.

I love your “We’re Going On a Bear Hunt” pictures! That’s such a good idea, and a wonderful way to repurpose a beloved book which has seen better days. I, too, have fond memories of my mother reading that book (same addition - it’s the best) and/or sing-songing the story with my brother and me as babies. It must be such fun now to share the same story with your babies!
