MIN ONE started quite a few styles... I always see people making their letters into heart shapes, min started that. MIN didn't start the crooked straight letter, but sure did master it. Fucking legend. Besides IZ and Dondi, min is my favorite.

I can appreciate Cap. Pieces/burners are way too tedious for my taste and I never enjoyed doing them. Also I suck at them because I never bothered to learn. I've been doing nothing but throwies and tags for 9 years lol.

I always preferred to do tags and throws too, dayspots can be cool every now and then though, but spending 3-4 hours+ on something from sketch with zero light gets boring pretty damn quick. + Whenever I do something big, bright and colourful it gets buffed quickly, I bomb it full with tags or do a throw and it somehow survives weeks- months longer than my pieces, blockies or burners the majority of the time (unless it's a day spot).

Mad that Cap turned out to be revered by so many(a king to many OGs), it's the weirdest trip cos if you think about it even though Cap was destroying a lot of art he was in a sense keeping it almost the realist by 'going over' everything, getting mad 'up' and not begging friends, almost the definative writers manifesto (to some), funny old world, in the UK at that time there was a rumour that Cap was shot after the film exposed his identity so was interesting seeing him in the updated Style Wars

@@misterwestable Go watch the Style Wars outtakes. Cap have great takes on that which didn't came out on the original doc. And yes, he belonged to a real gang in the bronx, he was actually a real outlaw compared to all those kids, who claimed to live the same outlaw lifestyle while trying to put rules on it. In fact, Cap was the one getting "capped" in the begining, because these people thought they could just cross some "white boy" who they preceived as a toy. He went to war with all thos people, their friends, and the friends of their friends. He survived to tell his story, and to this day, he is still remembered as legend, a king, a real badass mf.

Dude it blows my mind that MIN 1 was an absolute murderer of NYC subways in those days. The kid looks like he was 11! And I'm sure he had to be at least a little scrappy to hold his own in the late 70s-early 80s, but based on what you see in Style Wars you'd think you could flick him away with your finger. Don't judge a book by its cover, I guess.
