Hello, Oralia, from rainy Seattle, WA. I'm the same size, one inch taller. I started out an hourglass, now I'm a pear. I'm really ticked that Lane Bryant bought out Elodie, they used to have a Viola fit for pants and jeans where the hip measurement was 1-2 sizes larger than the hips. I'm so mad. Not as mad as I was when Talbot's discontinued carrying 6.5 Wide shoes. Ugh! I have very narrow shoulders, but I'm hoping to pick up some sweater dresses for the coming cold weather. Love this channel but how I wish Oralia didn’t love knit so much. 😊 I would never buy a knit dress- way too body hugging and way too hot for many of us this age. But I’ve bought many an item featured here in summer, including the Anthropologie striped shirt and the Banana Republic white linen dress.

I think the wide leg pants 👖 are difficult to wear if you're short. The proportions just don't seem to work with petite woman. Theres also just too much fabric throughout the whole leg area, which again doesn't help with proportion. They just end up looking too baggy and not in a great way. Also, if you have to alter the original wide leg pant it's very hard to do, often it doesn't come out right. You end up not getting the look the design was going for. I'd personally only recommend a wide leg pant if you're not petite or only if the pants already come in a petite Be careful with a satin skirt as it can show every lump and bump. That's just the nature of the fabric. As for the jacket, it's boxy and if you know that style doesn't work for you, opt for something else that gives you a shape. The boxy look can make a petite person look more boxy and can have proportion issues
