Such a nice cut maintaining weight and movement in the length. I’ve been cutting this type of cut using similar techniques for decades (since around 17, now in my 50’s), and it’s lovely to see your professional cut here - it’s kindly confirmed I was on the right track with the method I use (I’m not a hairdresser). I have cut all my family’s hair since I was around 10 years old, and the girls all love a variation of this, while the guys all love my classy mullet cut haha.
@gh2516Ай бұрын
Clarification: I could only cut my own hair competently when I was older, so the cut described initially was on myself, when I started cutting my own hair at around 17, in this kind of cut. Prior to that, I did the family’s hair.

I did hairdressing when I was 17 but then went on to become an accountant and really only knew the minimum about cutting. I am so determined to be able to cut my own hair and I’ve been growing it for what seems like years but keep mucking it up. I’ve learned so much from your channel and really understand how to cut hair now 😂 Not only am I cutting my own hair and knowing what I want and how to do it, I reckon I could cut other peoples hair 😂 You are such a good hairdresser and teacher!!! I so wish I’d carried on with my hairdressing ❤

I want something with some style and age appropriate. Something with length that I can ponytail and put behind my ears when down!

At first, I really couldn't see the character in the hair with the long layers, but OMG that blow dry did some magic!!!! I loved the shape of it and the "swoopyness" you got with all the layers. So beautiful. My hair is pretty dense but it's curly so I have to have lots of layers. BUT if it was straight I would DEFINITELY have some long layers put in it like that.

Wrinkled forehead at this age that needs concealing.

Point cutting will guarantee ends to grow back straggly. Blunt cutting the ends will give you most volume. Cutting hair over 30 yrs.
@carolynrobers1621Ай бұрын
Short point cutting has never caused my hair ends to be...straggly...
@debraowen6723Ай бұрын
@@carolynrobers1621 it depends on who does it and their techniques. Mine has always been better blunt cut or it's too thin on the bottom and looks like the models hair before she started. Not good.
@kenazfehu7176Ай бұрын
I don’t like point cutting either.
@johannapalmer9537Ай бұрын
Point cutting definitely left the ends of my curly hair straggly. My hairdresser took it apon herself to deeply point cut right into my hair, telling me she did it to take some of the weight out. I loved my thick full hair! She left me with a thin stringy perimeter! I cried when I got home and it took years to grow out. Never went back. In fact I don't go to the hairdressers any more. Learnt to cut my own hair and I alot happier!
@carolynrobers162128 күн бұрын
@@debraowen6723 true enough. When she does point cut though, it doesn't seem to be at an extreme angle and not deeply cut into. Makes a difference for sure. But blunt cut probably better for hair health. My hair is just so thin...

I cut my friends hair whose hair is very thin with layers and she is very happy. Also, I have noticed her hair thicker with the remedies that I've advised her to use. Hair mask once a month with Biotin and Jamaican Castor oil 100 % in glass bottle 3 x a week. I also made her a rose hip water out of real pedals and put it in a spray bottle so she could spritz her hair on days she doesn't do the C.O. God bless hope all works out for you. 🌹

So I greatly appreciate this video and the explanation, cause I'm obviously not explaining it right to the stylists. Maybe I'll send them this video, Lol.
