In this lecture Michael walks us through his decision making process in styling a contorted cherry. To keep the tree healthy and strong, he decides only to make a few cuts and let the tree grow for at least a year. In doing so, he keeps the momentum of the tree going, speeding up the progress made. If he were to style the entire tree now, pruning and detail wiring the branches, it would slow down and need at least a year to recover. Michael also explains how he seals a big wound and discusses the next steps for this tree. This video is a free preview lecture from our Bonsai Intermediate Course 2.
