I am 59 turning 60 in January and I actually have all these items covered but I have thrifted during the summer great statement cargos and I am always on the look out for statement leather belts. I so like how one pic showed a lady with a belt over and under one shoulder to give the holster look. I just ordered some chunky cream men inspired oxford shoe and also heel version in a knee high boot that I so had been avoiding getting caught in this trend. But I realized that I had gotten a pair way back in the day but they expired (I got so many compliments with those shoes I bought in the mid 90s). Because of my built being on the thicker side, my jewelry has to be more statement to get attention and that goes for earrings and rings (for my man hands with thick fingers. I really enjoyed this video. Hope all is well in New Zealand with the Covid19 situation and that lockdown achieved lowering the spread. Very practical and helpful advice! I admit that as the winter drags on in Chicago, I tend to focus on staying warm and dry and not so much on how fashionable I look or if I appear older, but I don’t want to look frumpy in my winter gear. Love the idea of refreshing my hats, gloves, scarves, etc. And brightening my winter wear with color is a great idea and will lift my mood as well.

Another tip: Because in winter, when we go out, we are so bundled up and covered up, more attention is drawn to our hair, especially our hair cut. So, give it a more modern look and shape that will work well with your favorite hats, especially after you take that hat off. I went with bangs and a tapered shaggy look around my face without taking a lot off the length of the rest of my hair, and am loving the update.

Since I am in hats and coats all winter in Pennsylvania (work outside), I cut my hair into a blunt shag lob. It seems to always look styled under a hat or even when I take the hair off since I have naturally wavy hair. The length doesn't get tangled up in turtlenecks too.

I have discovered that just wearing a simple dress and very statement like earrings has been my go to because I feel like it makes me look modern and interesting at the same time. I don’t find it aging, if anything it makes me kind of stand out because people have a focal point. I was simple black or burgundy tank dresses or a sweater dresses with simple boots and may be a season dependent third layer- like a bright cardi , a leather blazer or a black blazer and then a pair of colorful or gold statement earring. Btw, you look amazing for 54! Maybe it is because of that fantastic smile with that bold red lip!

Now you mention that Chang of style, currently 48, but my social circle are líder age. I revive my black crochet poncho, and pair it with bright Blue top. Currently we are Hot in south California, an have Santa Ana winds, so had hair day, with a capaz I can resolve the problem. An I received puffer jackets since early pandemia alert, I can get brighter colors, as an attitude of happines, wich most of us need ti cheer up, grave a hat, and see displays and shopping primos to get an Idea of what to wear and how. I do have some really good jewellery that I have had for years. I do like my shoes and have some super chunky boots but I still love my courts and brogues. I tend to buy some fashion shoes too, every year and use them to make things more current, along with bags and scarves to add a touch of colour in whatever is in fashion. I do dress quite a bit younger than my 63 years but in a pretty classic but individual way. Oh and lets not forget hair, makeup and accessories like glasses, sunglasses and such. They can lift your look. Luckily I got great genes and havent gone gray yet and have managed to keep the sun off my skin so am not overly wrinkled for 63 but I do know that wont last so have actively upped my skincare game to slow things down. I havent had anything cosmetic done, ever except for a septo-rhinoplasty about 12 years ago for bad sleep apnoea due to a badly broken nose but that was on the NHS and definately not cosmetic apart from straightening it. I havent ever had fillers or botox although I did use tretinoin for about a year and do use retinol daily now. The one thing thats non negotionable is sunscreen and physically keeping the sun off of your face. I think I was lucky being born in North East Scotland as in my teens and early twenties sun damage wasnt the thing it is now so I used prescribed sunscreen when we circumnavigated the world by sea with my dad in the early 70s but apart from that we didnt use sunscreen at home but I never sunbathed. I was outside all the time because we had horses and still do. So if you want to stay young its sunscreen every day and dont ever lie around in the sun!

Or, I recognize clothes that I wore in my 20s/30s & think... "Been There, Done That". I love these tips I used to feel out of my age to like to look trendy but I love winter because you get to put more cloth but you can be playful with your looks Im in my mids 40's but I am very trendy with my wardrobe specially in winter I would wear a suit pants with chunky sneakers before would have to change to more casual shoes or stiletos not anymore you can wear them all day and still look fashionable, same with the colors I love to mix/match llove my scarves and winter hats matches with the coats, I was never for puffy coats I ordered 2 this winter I was more wool or light weighted outercoats but love the puffy now how the night changes ahh? the older I get the more trendy I want to look ....and all my younger workers admire my sense of fashion and copy me lol it feels awesome...

That's a nice puffer you own, Leonie. I like the color. The one trend I cannot get into are the chunky, military style boots. Not for me.
