My early love of Styx has faded quite a bit, but I can’t deny their use of Oberheim synths shaped a lot of what I loved (and still prefer) about analogue synth sounds. Wie ich immer sage: gut gemacht und danke!

Very strange, I’m sure I posted on here and noticed it not shown. Anyway as always fantastic demo, I just love the way you put these songs together with many synths doing their thing. You get can’t beat the sound of these classics synths. To me they still sound like the future. Can’t believe how old these synths are now but still sound amazing. As always appreciate what you do and thank you for your time putting these demos together for us to listen too. Top channel and top musician.

Now that's what I like to see!! Actual music created on synths.... instead of "Oooh let me play all the presets and bore you to death!!" Or, go on and on about what one part of the synth is capable of.. I really enjoyed this!! I originally got into keyboards after having to have a 'diseased' kidney removed and had time on my hands. I got a Korg PA600 2 yrs ago (after seeing Olivier MAREAU play JMJ, Georgio Moroder etc on a Korg PA50). I then got a Deepmind 12 last year then a Korg Wavestate mk2 37 key synth. I just use vid tuts to learn to play them. But seeing this vid, i find it inspiring off what you can achieve with a handful of synths, and knowing how to play them! If i won the lottery, I'd have a proper musician like yourself to teach me. 😉

Sometimes you need to hear sounds from specific gear if you're looking for something. Especially with romplers, the '90s and 2000s used a lot of preset sounds so it can be neat to pick them out

*A&M Classics Vol. 15,* the one featuring Styx’ hits on the label up to 1984, is one of the compilation albums that motivated me to become a musician. “Mr. Roboto” was essential. Man, this is a killer cover of it. Awesome, RS! I have to ask, what is the OB-Xk is triggering?
