Sawasdee Khun Spencer actually there are a increasing number of Bhikksuni ภิกษุณี in Thailand they just are not officially recognized by the Thera Samakhom. Like in many social dimensions in Thailand the public is generally much more liberal and open. As long as the supporters are there the Bhikksuni can continue to practice and teach. I see them as being very essential to the emerging discussion of gender equality and as a counter to the increasing instances of corruption and abuse of power by prominent Thai monks.
