Danji presents a challenge to the Uniformers. In response, AI Gui sets up a stage at the sacred ground of Kaganokuni, Hakusan, to determine the future of Vanguard. In the first match, Shirogane stands before Yu-yu, once their comrade, Zakusa.

Zakusa is that friend who will call you out on your bs but still be there when you need him and Yu-Yu really needed him to open his eyes im also loving how strong Zakusa is now finally getting wins he deserves.

Not a bad episode for me, but damn, that realization of YuYu, i like that scene. "How arrogant", said Zakusa, probably the best way to describe YuYu as a character in this season. YuYu just need to calm down for a moment. The moment he discarding "Clad in Prayers" somehow make me sad because Nirvana is all about hope and prayers, and YuYu discarding it showing he's desperately searching for power, that one scene act as symbolism in my opinion.

I think it’s also real interesting that clad in prayers is kinda THE card that represents Yuyu’s style (mixing Overdress and XOverdress) and that’s the one he discarded.

I mean to be fair all things considered in his hand an argument can be made that no matter what he discards he’s discarding a part of himself. Clad in Prayer does have the most impact though since from a logical standpoint every game he actually got to play it in on camera he’s lost (cause I don’t think he used it against Urara) but like someone else said it’s also like a combination and acknowledgment of his style of both overdress and xdress

Its refreshing to see that for a change its Yuyu who gets his eyes opened instead of Yuyu doing to others. He put the mirror in front of himself and Zakusa was big help too. Didnt expect Zakusa to give the card tho which he got from Danji. Minae family covers him in terms of cards XD. Since we know its team fight, we know other two gonna win so lets see how it projects to Sophie and Halona. 🤔

Yu-yu got so blinded by the goal to become stronger and beat Uniformers that he forgot about his true view/motto about Vanguard which is to never discard your own style. His focus on strength made him lose his identity. His greatest enemy was himself. Zakusa beating Yu-yu in the fight was Yu-yu's 'death'. And him giving Yu-yu the new card was him giving Yu-yu a chance of 'rebirth'.

A surprising twist, but when you take into consideration Vanguard in the anime is half mental in the sense that the mental state of a Fighter also factors greatly into a fight, it makes sense. Yu-Yu has the training to get stronger, that EXP is still there, but his mental state is all wrong, so Zakusa opening his eyes here will probably be the final factor for him to finally reach his new heights.

Since starting this section, I would like to say as Yu-yu san's as my main person that Yuyu san doesn't look happy right now. There are some smiles in the mood, but I feel like that smile is more like a forced smile, or a smile that seems like it's more pleasing. It's not the smile of a happy person or a fun person. But now Yuyu-san has opened his eyes to the fact that what he is doing is no different from a villain in that he is forcing other people. But now Yuyu-san has opened his eyes too. Now the main issue is how Yu-yu san will overcome this harsh reality. But I believe that Yu-yu san will smile again because "smile" is Yu-yu san's uniqueness. And now Yu-yu-san is also good at it in that he started to realize himself after losing to Zak-chan (Zakusa). Well, Zak-chan (Zakusa) taught him the truth that was brutal but made him blind. bright. As for Danji himself, some people might be annoyed because he takes his friends to call the opponent ready to attack them without even talking to each other, but if you look at it from another perspective, it's like Danji wants Yu-yu san to know for himself that in reality it's not true. I have only one point of view. Try to look at it from many angles. I feel like that And it's like Danji knows that if it were Yu-yu san right now, he wouldn't listen when he spoke, so he had to use Vanguard Fight to bring him back to his senses. That’s kinda the point of some characters, if you noticed almost no grown ups character change much, (other then tohya but we don’t talk about him), denji, zakuza, tomari, even masanori/Sophie to some extent, that’s kinda their character, they are static characters who doesn’t change much if at all through out the series, reason ? Cause they are sparking grown ups, they already have their lives figured out, when zakuza joined uni, it wasn’t because he wanted to be stronger, he just wanted a new perspective on his deck, being champion and all were just add on’s, this fight was for yu-yu not for zakuza, to show how he became similar to the uniformers that he dislikes, which is why zakuza was victorious

Well the problem with that is that Prison is absolutely awful against Orfist because the tokens can’t be imprisoned. So she would almost guaranteed lose. Also, in a previous episode she seemed completely fine with Zakusa being a Uniformer, and had faith that he will do what he wants. It would not make sense for them to fight.

I liked this, it wasn't going to be a sweep like we've had before, Raeka needed to prove himself against Sophie and Urara wanted her friend back, but Yu-Yu was going in a downward spiral so focused on becoming stronger he's forgotten what he was fighting for in the first place, to enjoy the fight whether you win or lose, also it makes sense since he never received his upgrade card that he's lost something, something close to him, getting it now means that he's understood the errors of his ways and now needs to start again with his new form :D

Ahh... aaaa... aa.. I don't know what to say. Genuinely did not see that coming. I thought it's almost universally agreed upon that Yuyu will showcased new Vairina win breeze through this but NO. Instead Zakuza showing Yuyu that he is no different from the thing that he despised and end up showing him the light in his own twisted way. Probably unpopular opinion but, i kinda dig it ngl.

I agree. I know my opinion of overdress/will dress matches being incredibly predictable and only the VERY specific details are hard to guess is unpopular but this was actually unpredictable. I loved seeing Yu-yu lose here not only because personally I felt like it would be too soon for him to use the new Vairina but also I hated how the made Zakusa a uniform and put him on the antagonist team and was so mad that it felt like a random character like him (I don’t mean he’s a random character in general but felt like such a random choice to make a “villain”) was suddenly going bad, but here it was finally confirmed that he didn’t change, and I was so glad because he was the only character I have consistently liked since the start and I’m so glad I get to keep that

I knew that yuyu was gonna loose the moment they said that the team that get two victories wins, like out of the three main characters from thus season, yuyu was the only one that didn’t have a direct goal on defeating the opponent that they gave him (Zakusa) and this also helps him to develop and realize that he was acting like the uniformers by not accepting other types of playstile and thinking than his is the only right one

The final fights starts now Spoilers! Just by listening to the rules Tomari has set already gave away the fact that Yu-yu will lose against Zakusa, I also already knew that Yu-yu hasn't realize the full picture which was the reason he loses the fight, even Zakusa sighing and Yu-yu's desparation to "free" Zakusa made it obvious, and only now Yu-yu realizes that his reason for fighting is no different than the Uniformers, I also like the fact that this is reflect upon Mirrors Vairina where he saw the truth. After seeing the full picture he now receives his new card. I also like how Zakusa feels is no different from previously, really the only thing different from him is just having enlightment and just like what he says throughout the fight, he's just being an expressionist, this the most probable reason why Tomari never bothered trying to drag him back to Blackout it's because she knows he hasn't change too much beyond recognition for her to intervene, she's just allowing him to do what he wants for now. Next is Urara VS Halona, one of the fights I was waiting for and it's most likely Urara and Raika will win their fights since Yu-yu lost which will gurantee a fight with Gui, also excited to see the new Lianorn next week.

If he discarded nirvana probably he can push. Draw from draw phase and discard it to call brahmada and trickstar, XoD to Mirrors, draw 2 and one of those is trickstar, keep the trickstar discard the other card, play trickstar, Od to Valiente, use Clad in Prayers. Even if he's not getting the power boost of persona, at least he can do 5 attack(or 6) and that give more pressure i think.

This might of been said several times in the comments but Yuyu has been arrogant in this season and like everyone else said, a good episode for Yuyu to not just lose but also realizing how flawed his mental state is while also receiving a new card in the process, basically a win/win situation in terms of development and I actually don’t mind the loss right here because it felt like a learning experience/moment which this was of what I really wanted to see from Yuyu in Season three, great stuff overall. 🥹👏💕 #cardfightvanguard

This episode made me a bit confused, Yu-yu's playing style is still the same without any changes after training with Danji, so the training episode with Danji seems meaningless, I thought there would be a Vanguard new or at least new Vairina
