The early days of that musical explosion was such a wonderful time to be alive.

It sure was! I was 17 at the time, and the cultural shift was absolutely staggering.

The sad part is that grunge 30 years ago---and ideals like defiance, irreverence, danger, controversy---was the last music revolution to shake up the music industry and culture. There hasn't been a backlash against the corporate machine in 3 decades.

amen.. what people don't remember about those times or the younger generations seem to miss, that it was an unique moment in culture. for a while the "people" had a voice, the labels were dumbfounded by nirvana and took that dollar bait as a helpless baby that did not have a clue what was going on. it was serious, thought provoking yet hilarious and fun, kind of what the 60's was aiming for.. but managed to corrupt by capitalism.. these people were lifers on their ideologies and caring at the same time.. made fresh new music with a strong message and were seriously concerned about the future.. still having that smirk of sarcasm at their sleeve. :)

The Internet has killed any chance of that. There'll never be another movement like grunge or punk.

So cool- I love their sorta aggressive defence of the artists they represent.

Unfortunately, things like the World Wide Web, Autotune and digital audio technology has ensured there will never again be a regionally based music scene akin to what happened in the PNW.

its crazy how they were talking about what the bands were portraying in videos and what not...being indecent ....nothing compared to the trash that is EVERWHERE today in the ...so called... music scene...or mainstream ! give me the 90s any day !!
