Sub Zero has been my main since MK II back when I was a kid playing on the N64 version. My best memories are cheesing victories against my lil brother by spam freezing him in Deadly Alliance and Deception. He is a menace XD

Loved that video and retrospective it gets it kind of makes me feel bad I've missed the times when MK9 was the new game although I'm an MK fan since MK3 when I was a kid but only recently got into the MK again and I'm absolutely loving it. The last one I played before MK11 was MK4 so yeah quite a gap..

Sub is low tier in MK9, but it is his best klone/gameplay/move set- I had so much fun and won some local tourney's with him even against Cyrax players. I put in the work though and he took alot. MK1 Sub is like that-alot of work, but without the fun.

I have a question for you: what are your thoughts on the Sub-Zero/Johnny Cage matchup in MK9? I've always read that at worst, it was 5-5, but mostly that it was 6-4 Sub because JC has a tough time with Ice Ball and Klone. Thanks!

It was a turtle vs turtle match, Cage abuses Sub up close, but he cant ever get close without the sub making a mistake, and neither can damage the other from a distance, its just Cage nutpunching under ice balls and Sub sitting behind clone, until one makes a mistake and forces the other to have to come in. One of the driest matches in any MK game probably

@@AF0xyGrampa That's precisely how I played it as Sub-Zero. But when I would use JC against Sub-Zero players, I tried to pressure them until they successfully got me off of them and then I would use the life-lead to make them approach me. Thank you for your analysis!
