He's right about the darkness in deep space at 4:41 - the light from the galaxies hasn't reached that point in deep space - the universe is expanding and the galaxies are moving away from the point taking their light with them. Olber's paradox.
@lukeboyle28712 жыл бұрын
It actually has a lot to do with our atmosphere and how light interacts with our planet as "deep space" is anything outside of a body in space. As galaxies span millions of light years and the space between them is incomprehensibly large, even if the light has reached that point in space, as there is nothing to reflect that light off, there is little to no chance anyone will see anything in deep space at all ever. Olber's Paradox is very interesting as it suggest that we shouldn't be able to observe anything in the night sky other than our solar system as every body in space is expanding away from each other at the speed of light giving a non-static and ever expanding universe. I know this paradox is regarded as a good, but not perfect, explanation of the expansion of the universe. It is most likely that the rate material bodies are moving away from each other is smaller that that of the speed of light so there will eventually be a time when the light of deep space bodies will reach earth, but the rate the material universe is expanding at is greater than the speed of light due to dark matter. Thoughts? Edit: As I am sure you are aware, Olber's Paradox doesn't actually offer an explanation for deep space viewing of bodies, only viewing on Earth.

Will you need to have a whole video dedicated to the dolphin experiment. The US army funded an experiment to find out if dolphins could be taught to speak so they partially flooded a house and made it live with a woman and she would teach it to speak. It became a teenager and it started being rough, it eventually started being nicer and this is when she would give handjobs to the dolphin. They had to stop because they thought it was messing with the experiment. They then decided the next best thing to try and get them to speak was for her and the dolphin to take LSD together and see if that would help. The US Army then decided to stop funding. It's hard to believe that it actually happened and there's so much I'm leaving out

There was also a guy who had sexual relations with a dolphin at an amusement park, apparently the female dolphin came on to him over time, and after the park closed he and the dolphin would engage in *activities* of a certain nature. He praised the lady from that NASA funded experiment as sexual relations between animals and humans is “misunderstood”. He also fell into a pit of depression for years after his dolphin lover died, he’s also a self proclaimed Zoophile as he had similar relations with a dog.

Student Astrophysicist here, because we would not have an atmosphere, you would see nothing in dead space. Our sun light and atmosphere allows us to see our space in all of its beauty, the furthest object we can see in space with the naked eye is the Andromeda Galaxy which is 2.5 million light years away. But if we stood on the moon and looked in the same direction, we wouldn't see anything but darkness (we can see the sun, earth and maybe mars or Venus but everything else is a no).

So basically the stars we see (and planets) are actually very close, sorta if you compare it to deep space and the incomprehensible distance between some stars, galaxies etc. It’s a pretty common misconception to think space is full of things, it’s really just absurdly empty and dark

The thing with light in space is that the speed of light has a certain value and there's a maximum distance that light could have possibly travelled since the beginning of the universe. Space is so vast and huge that there are regions where the nearest light source is further than the maximum distance that light could have travelled, which basically means there are regions of complete nothingness.

Did a fact-check on some of these... The AI's weren't shut-down, they just tweeked the parameters of the research (basically, instead of rewarding the AI every time they made something that resembles a sentence, they now were altered to create grammatically correct sentences) And about Doris, well, he did offer his mom for medical research. Blowing up corses to figure out how bodyparts spread on explosions is medical research. Similar to how some bodies get laid outdoors to research how bodies deteriorate over time in open air, which helps in forensic research when they have to estimate a time of death.

For anyone confused mid way, the military very frequently get their hands on the corpse of people because they use them to test military gear. So yea. If your beloved gran gran, papa, mom, etc was a donor it's a good possibility you'll b getting chucked onto grenades or help test ammunition. Not all dead bodies being repurposed have a hallmark future. Your skeleton could have its ribs as a booger rack in some classroom too.

On the light in space thing: there are actually sections of the universe called voids, where to the best of human knowledge, there are no galaxies or stars. There are areas of space that can be millions of light years across with no light in them, and are so wide that light can't reach them from outside because it loses its intensity and fades out before it gets to you

Here’s a fact. Ancient Egyptians used to eat the mummies. That’s right. It was a process where they caramelized the corpses in honey before wrapping them up, burying them underground for hundreds of years, and then taking them out and selling small parts of them and consuming them. They believed it had health benefits
