Its been 9 days since my mom is admit in the Cleveland clinic Abu Dhabi. My mom didn't even speak or open her eyes. But she had little movement. Like shaking her fingers. Not all the time My mom's subarachnoid hemorrhage surgery was successful.but she is not waking up. Two days they stopped giving my mom medicines. And now they have started again. Its like artificial coma. Again another stroke has happened. In my mom's brain. I really don't know what to do. The hospital is great the doctor and nurse. everyone are so kind and friendly. I hope my mom Will recover soon

I recently had the same thing happen to me almost exactly. I was doing a set of pull ups and after I finished the set, I had the same excruciating pain from my neck go into my head. After awful headaches and Nausea I went into the hospital and I was in the ICU for a week diagnosed with an SAH. I had 5 scans and a camera procedure that went into my wrist artery up to my brain to see the damage and my blood flow. Mine is self healing and It’s been a month since it happened. I’m on the mend and able to go back to work. Thank you so for sharing your story and showing your recovery and success. I hope to do the same.

Did you have aneurysm rupture?..or direct vessel rupture?
@monica8186
@monica8186 2 жыл бұрын
I had the same almost to the exact detail in 2004 at 21 years old - healthy lifestyle and no family history. After an angiogram and with a room ready for brain surgery, the doctors noticed it was a vessel rupture and decided not to do surgery and to try self healing. I was closely monitored for 5 days and after release, I needed a month off where I slowly regained strength and was back to work in a month. It has been 16 years since and never another recurrence. It did have a great impact on the way I lived my life - grateful for the recovery and for this second chance at life. This gave me refreshed focus to live a life that makes a positive impact. Your new chapter just started, happy to hear about your recovery. Wishing you genuinely all the best!!

..In the year 2020, I experienced a Subarachnoid hemorrhage most likely due to a previous traumatic head sport injury or other related. I felt weird pressure in my neck and felt I needed an ice pick to release the pressure. I simultaneous immediately asked my family to call 911 and was immediately taken to neurosurgery. I was in the hospital for 20 days while my head was being drained. What is interesting is there was no sign of any aneurysm. The brain scan did find a little weak spot and that was taken care of on a preemptive basis using the endo-vascular treatment discussed here. I survived and just completed my 3 year checkup. The event somewhat changed my outlook on life. The hardest thing for me is my loved ones and friends not understanding what I went through or understanding how previous life and and no reason to get fussy or cranky at the little things. The little things don't bother me any more. Life, love, and living live is so precious and important.

@@universe-Universe-1 - I was in a specialty neurosurgeon hospital the specialized in brain/head injuries. I was in bed for 20 days with a drain at the top of my head to drain blood fluid. The drain is actually a needle syringe that is not painful but drains out the blood fluid. What was painful was my neck - think of stiff neck amplified. Therefore the doctors/nurse gave me pain medicine to allow me to sleep. It took me a full 4-6 month to recover. The side effects was I had to use a cane because I was very weak and temporarily lost my ability to balance.I temporarly lost vision in one eye. I would have to say it took me about 8 month to fully recovery. I will be honest with you that I was prepared to pass away and did see the other side. It was very peaceful but the Good Lord obviously sent me back to this physical world. Please just support you Mum for whatever outcome. Prayers to you and hopeful things workout for you. God Bless you.

@@misssrednas I did much research on Sub-arachnid hemmorhage. There could be more research because while not rare it's not prevalent. About 60% of people pass away if not treated immediately, about 40% survive if treated quickly. I was treated very quickly and survived. I read one of the leading factors is previous head trauma but other factors exist. I played football in the 70s when you "grin and bear it". I was not a big guy but a good athlete so I was a starter. However not being that big I would encounter huge collisions and realized now they were concussions. I always was buzzing in my head since my young days. I guess it coagulated and liquid filled up in the "sub area of arachnid"- the liquid has to get drained. I was simply working on my computer one night and felt huge pressure in the nape of my neck right below the right below the right side of my head. I felt like getting an ice pick to relieve the pressure. I told my wife to call 911 because I had taken First Aid Classes and felt it was unusual to want an ice pick to relieve pressure. I actually remember the Paramedics treating me as a slipped away. My wife said they had to defribb my heart with that chest thingy. Next day I woke up in the Neurosurgery Center with a drain syringe poked into the top of my head. I was in that Neurosurgery Center for 20 days straight of draining that liquid. That's my experience. I lived but for a brief time was not alive but I came back and grateful. My neurosurgery center assigned me a nurse to call on my every month to see how I was doing. I also was assigned a physical therapist to redevelop any lost abilities. For awhile I lost vision in one eye and had to wear an eye-patch similar to a pirate. I also used a cane to stabalize myself while walking. It took me about 6-8 months to fully recover. By way, I always kept in good physical condition prior to the even - running, basketball, walking. I don't smoke and never did drugs. I did drink red wine for dinner but now I can get vertigo if I drink red wine so I need to be careful. What's interesting is some of my memory is now very acute. Other parts that don't matter not as acute. I still work out every other day. The nurse said it's good to adopt brain hobbies such as writing. I have always like to write and I have always played chess so she said that is good. I really know there is a God. I saw God.I am not afraid to pass away anymore. But The Good Lord brought me back. Thank you God for that.

I was concerned about fluid like moving on my head in the area where the operation took place, so I went to A&E but CT Scan reveal nothing, I was told that everything is okay, though I am still worried with anxiety due to the fact that I don't know why I keep having the sensation of moving jelly like in the area, this is four weeks after the operation. could you help if this is normal or is something that has to be checked again. I spent about 6months recovering, this is not operation one will started doing strenous activities, your mum have to rest everytime and eat well. medication such as Aspirin etc will prescribed and Asprin is for life for blood thinner in order not have blood clot in the area affected. End of march 2022 i was diagnosed with a SAH after getting hit in a accident… i was discharged after 4 days. CT scans .. moved from Er to a Trauma floor .. home .. given meds and told to come back for a follow up.. well a lot of stuff happened and i wasn’t able to . my follow up for another CT is scheduled.. Im scared as ever because when it was explained to me they made it seem like it was nothing but after certain events in my life have taken place and i finally did more research on this brain injury im realizing how much i’ve changed.

@@Josh-rn1em I saw a neuro guy for a follow up and got CT scan and MRI done, everything looked okay according to them, the area that had blood showed calcifications around it which meant i was healing or healed.. not really sure with them these days. they did tell me i was showing signs of post concussion syndrome even though it’s been a little over a year. then sent me to a neuro therapist type guy. I also got a few exams done by another neuropsychologist therapist person.. who tested me on numerous things to see how i functioned before the accident and after. he used my college scores and stuff like that. basically i got diagnosed with anxiety ptsd and a lot more but he told me i just had to keep getting follow ups to make sure the blood doesn’t ever come back etc.. that when i go back to finish college to take it slow because my level of focussing and comprehension is insanely lower now due to the accident. that i have short term memory problems now as well. He advised me to stick with the other neuro surgeon guy to discuss the frequent migraines i have and the back pain from my accident but that was honestly it. it didn’t feel helpful at all. im super sensitive to light and sound, have problems sleeping, constant migraines and hate riding in the car now but honestly I would talk to your doctor about your concerns and keep living life the best way you can! we got this. I still garden and do other forms exercise. I do notice that if i’m stressed out the migraines come so im having to take note of that and do my best to stay positive in certain situations. wish you the best Josh! hope this helped a little. In terms of you hurting yourself i would discuss the risk with your doctor but since it’s been 3 months for you personally i would take it slow!! like don’t start training for heavy weights champion of the world type thing lol. In all seriousness though i’m glad youre okay. im only 25 and this has all been scary and confusing for me. mine was in the right front lobe area. I had a mini stroke but they literally didn’t tell me until i got my discharge papers and read it. I will continue to follow up with the doctor i go to just for occasional checkups but they don’t seem to care about my well being to be real with you.

It really is very difficult to say, but some say around six months is the most significant recovery which continues at slower pace later. A very good friend of mine had this 12 days ago, an aneurysm burst during EVC, he opened his eyer two days ago, responds to sounds but still doesn't enter into comunication...

I’m sorry to hear about your friend having to suffer this. My father suffered from a subarachnoid haemorrhage and it took a year at least for him to recover but ever since he was not the same person he had been before he had this. We have to remember they might lose the ability to properly regulate or control themselves like they used to. I’m sure the fact you’re even asking these questions and want to find out how to support your friend while they recover from this would be a very poignant and important part of your friendship.

@@universe-Universe-1 I am very sorry to hear you are going through this. If it hurt me because of my friend I can't even fathom what it's like when it's mom... It's very, very difficult to say, every case is different. My friend got meningitis as a complication and many other infections. He survived it all but he is in minimally conscious state after 7 months. He is completely dependent, bed ridden, can't talk, can't eat he can only track objects with his eyes atm and reacts to sounds... We are still hopeful. But remember, every case is different. I met a lot of people and their stories, including a woman who had the same thing, was in hospital for two months but you would never guess she has been through that, everything is perfectly normal with her. Same with my mum , it's happened to her bleeding her aneurysm during surgery,its happen to her 1thMay2023 ,😭😭😭,nearly 2 months ago. She was in a coma for 8 days ,then she woke up and couldn't move, she only opened her eyes and smiled. Now, after 7 weeks, she can talk a little, and they are doing intensive rehabilitation and physical medicine. She can sit now , she can't eat food at the moment. She forgot anything happened the day before. But that kind of memory comes and goes. She remembered most of the things in the past. Yesterday and today, we talked to her Dr's, and they said she is doing well. The CT scan they have from her Brian the other day , they said, showing the blood draining down. But it will still take a lot of time for her to recover. We have no choice but to support her and be there for her and give her a lot of love and hope to get recovering soon.
