This might be a play on words on the fact that "Denpa" means both "Electromagnetic Waves" and the subgenre of horror this novel belongs to, which gets its name from an older visual novel where Electromagnetic Waves turn people slowly crazy. Denpa games typically make horror on the idea of normal people starting to act strange in seemingly coordinated ways, Higurashi being the most famous example.
