Wow you've really stepped up your game man! The rx7 and this 2.5rs have been great builds to watch. It's also been motivating for me as I coincidentally started my own gm6 project at around the same time as you. Nearly done with mine now but your vids have been keeping me motivated the whole way through. Can't wait to see it all finished up! btw I am actually an artist myself and do a ton of painting. I highly recommend getting into it! You don't have to give up on cars but it's a great hobby to have! There are many parallels between art projects and building cars but they do both always come down to that last tedious 10%!!! Have a good day g, thanks for documenting your hard work!

@artistunknwn18 минут бұрын
@@SmeediaFor sure, fighting for time is always the real struggle! Never know how much you might enjoy something till you really dive in though! My coupe has gone surprisingly smooth, considering it's my first Subaru. I've been in the sw20 MR2 world for a while now and wanted to try something new. The body work was the bigger challenge for me. It's my first time welding patch panels. I had one rust hole on each side near the rear quarters. Right where the side trim clips go into the body. Took me a good few attempts but ended up with a result I'm confident in. Obviously I didn't go nearly to the extent you have, but you've inspired me to try many things I wouldn't have thought I could do before!
@soup2ru43313 сағат бұрын
Another thing to remember when getting coilovers is that if you have a wagon the rear ones are taller. So if you get sedan rears they will be shorter and have less of a spring rating than wagon will. Another thing, if you do a Forester STI same applies there, you'll have saggy butt if you swap STi rear subframe in and don't change strut body.

The cable is probably correct. You need to install it completely and the slack pulled out. The spring on the brake end will be slightly compressed. You don't have the cable pulled tight forward. I should not be able to see the cable where it comes out of the back plate at 16:57.

I sure hope that isn’t actually 4 gauge wire.. that is definitely not large enough for a trunk mount battery to be reliable and not have too much voltage drop for all the accessories and Haltech. Usually want at least 1/0 or larger, but definitely run dedicated ground to the block like you did!
@bmxkelowna16 сағат бұрын
You should run the GD top hat with them swapped left to right. It turns them so that when you add camber you add caster which is very beneficial in a gc8
@XionPrince11 сағат бұрын
This!
@Smeedia4 сағат бұрын
Absolutely not, there is not reason to re-drill and slot the Factory top hat mounts in the chassis. If I REALLY need to adjust caster I can do it off the LCA from the subframe
@bmxkelowna4 сағат бұрын
@@Smeedia you do not need to redrill the chassis at all. If you run the GD top hats with them on the left and the right swapped then you get perfect camber and caster adjustment. Trust me time attack and drift guys have been doing it for a long time
@XionPrinceСағат бұрын
@@Smeedia We are just talking about the front. The rear I would've done exactly what you did. The GD has more static castor than a GC, so being able to gain caster while adding negative camber is quite advantageous.
