The Leone and the Liberty are two different cars. The Forester engine has different cams, turbo and ECU when compared to a comparable year WRX.
@thewayibuiltit6083 Жыл бұрын
I changed the turbo from a WRX is running Haltech ECU
@thewayibuiltit6083 Жыл бұрын
And not sure what you mean by they are 2 different cars? I used the shaft for the CV from a 2WD Leonie and CV cups/ends are from a liberty.
@simonrook5743 Жыл бұрын
@@thewayibuiltit6083That they have the same spline pattern on the driveshafts doesn’t mean the y are the same cars. You won’t get the same power from the Forester engine as the WRX due to the different cams. Does give better low end torque though.

Fantastic build mate, did the suspension take much fiddling around? What about the 5 lug? Wanting to change wheels and drop my brumby a bit but unsure on difficulty cheers
@thewayibuiltit60833 жыл бұрын
No changes to suspension just basic lathe work to make the backing plate sit Center Ed and machining and drilling of the drum to make it the same stud pattern of the 5 stud disc. Will be doing another video on how I did it also with rear handbrake

hey mate i love it it looks awsome hey,im on the goldcoast and ive just brought my self a brumby,they really are a great car hey,dont suppose you know where i could find a few bits and pieces for a ea81?im chasing a intake manifold so i can do a supercharger conversion,pretty cool cars these days mate they just need more horse power haha
@redoz9768 Жыл бұрын
probably cheaper to chuck in a later model engine, than to supercharge the EA81 which will still be crap even with some boost.
@monkeymachine622 жыл бұрын

Had challenges. But enjoy working on the Brumby, so I’d say it’s definitely worth it.

Why didn’t you just run a 255 fuel pump with a return? Surge tank with a return w/ another fuel pump is kind of a waste of time and money.
@thewayibuiltit60833 жыл бұрын
Can’t use the normal pick up below quarter of a tank when cornering or parked on hill. Original carby motor uses the bowl of the carby as its surge tank. Also this tank and pump was $100 of eBay.

Could you mount the new engine to the old gearbox?
@thewayibuiltit6083 Жыл бұрын
With an adaptor plate I guess. But standard box wouldn’t handle the power
